We are such self-deceiving hypocrites when we don't withhold ourselves from spending much on our personal delights and pleasures, and yet judge and withhold from the needy beggar on the streets for "fear" they will spend God's money (it is not ultimately ours) on cigarettes and drugs.
God "loses out" constantly on us (believer and unbeliever alike). "He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." We should be willing to "lose out" on others and quit excusing ourselves as being "good stewards."
Be like God and be willing to lose that others may gain and be touched by His light/example shining through you.
