Gracious Reminders to Glory In

Even though I am a Christian, redeemed and saved by God, in His infinite wisdom God still lets me experience weaknesses and temptations. Why? There are at least two reasons [among many] clear to me: 1) To remind me that I am still a man, that I am needy and dependent on Him; not independent and self-sufficient apart from Him. He is the vine and I am one of many branches that must abide in Him. 2) To remind me that He alone is able to save and He alone is able to make His kingdom come and for His will be done. He doesn't need me; the only one in this relationship who is needy is me.

Christian, Christ's Spirit dwells in you. Boast and glory in the weaknesses and temptations you face, and be not bowed down by them. They are humble reminders that He is there and for you to continue not only to abide in Him, but to praise Him alone as well.
