"A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the Lord of hosts... My covenant was with Levi, one of life and peace, And I gave them to him that he might fear Me; So he feared Me And was reverent before My name." ~Malachi 1:6 & 2:5

The same reverence/respectful-fear we show towards our fathers (if we were raised right: not thoughtlessly and flippantly relating toward them); that we show towards other women when we are married-bound to another, should be the same heart we carry when we enter the presence of our Creator-King. No, we do not live in terror of Him; no upright father desires that of his children. Yet, just as we careful how we approach and conduct ourselves toward our own fathers and toward women not our wives, we should walk in that same reverence and attitude toward God, O my soul. As a Faithful Teacher, O God, continue to grant help to us to better understand, walk before You, and bring honor and glory to You. Thank You for bearing and longsuffering with us Your immature, stumbling, and thoughtless children, in order that we might repent and be saved.

"The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever...is the beginning of wisdom...there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge...is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death...The fear of the Lord leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; he will not be visited with evil." ~Psalm 19:9, Proverbs 9:10, 14:26-27, 19:23
