I have seen one ditch of evangelism: Where fellow believers go out of their way to be obnoxious and intentionally offensive when speaking God's truth.
But we must all realize that God has already made us a particular fragrance to the world; the fragrance that has the aroma of life to some, and to others the aroma of death (2 Corinthians 2:14-17). We do not have to intentionally bring this about. We don't have to go out of our way to make it happen; it will naturally happen.
We do not have to go out of our way to divide; the Gospel is so powerful (Hebrews 4:12) that it seeks to draw all (John 12:32) while knowing that it will naturally divide those who turn away from that drawing. (Matthew 10:34-36)
The responsibility we have from our Father & Savior, is to speak not just the truth and the truth alone, but to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15); to do our best to be at peace with all men (Romans 12:18, Titus 3:2) while knowing that peace will be won as the heavenly battles are fought and His (s)Word goes forth before Him. (Ephesians 6:12-18)
