The full moon fell, making room for the bright sun. Remus straightened, trying to make his exhausted bones feel better. He was in all pain, and it was terribly cold. Slowly, he got up from the pile of blankets that Tonks had placed there the night before and began his look for clothes. He had spent the night in Ted's old shed. Although he had drunk his potion, he refused to transform into Andromeda's house, and he did not want Dora to be with him this time either. He didn't think it was the best idea to let a six-month pregnant woman stay up all night and lie with her wolf husband on a cold and hard floor on a blanket. Although Dora thought otherwise, she wanted to stay with Remus. In the last few days, she didn't want to be left alone at all, she was clinging to Remus. When Remus had to leave home for the Order, Tonks fled either to Molly of Burrowis or to the headquarters of Magdalena and Sirius. Remus had noticed that his beloved Dora hadn't been herself for several days. Something had changed in her since they had escaped. Even though she was smiling all the time and making small jokes, there was something new in her eyes, it was like a hidden and excruciating fear. Her gaze, meanwhile, wandered in a controlling, as if waiting for someone from behind the corner to attack her. Remus initially tried to ignore the change, though he was worried he could convince himself that it was just stress and she could overcome it. But at one point, Remus realized that this was more serious. Last night, before heading to the shed for transformation, Dora winced as Remus hugged her from behind, and she was frightened enough that she was grazing and hitting his shoulder hard enough to create a slight bruise. Of course, Dora felt terrible after that, and she apologized. Remus was not angry at all and he wanted to tell her that, but before he had a chance, Andromeda came and said that the full moon was about to rise and it was time for Remus to go.
Remus went back to the house. The warm air that filled the house was so homely and unparalleled that it made Remus sigh with satisfaction. He headed for the stairs and slowly started to move up to the second floor when he suddenly heard something that made him stop in fright. He heard a cry, a painful moan, and the rustling sound of the bed sheets. It only took him a second to figure out where that sound was coming from, "Dora?" he whispered in horror and ran as fast as he could up the stairs to their bedroom. When he opened the door, he found a terrifying scene in front of him. Dora was lying in bed, their black and yellow striped blanket had fallen at night, her arms and legs were scattered all over the bed, she was shaking all over her body and there was a frightened scream in her mouth that was quiet as a whisper, but still audible enough, "No, please ... no, " She had tears in her eyes and her hair was mixed with black and poison-green.
,,Dora!" Remus ran to her, he placed both hands on her shoulders and shook her slightly, "Dora, wake up! Wake up, love!"
,,Don't...no...don't die..." Tonks replied, still asleep, her voice hurt and then she screemed.
,,Dora, wake up!" Remus shouted louder, shaking her much strongly.
Suddenly, Tonks' eyes popped open, her eyes were full of fear and turned completely black. Slowly their color came back when she noticed that she was awake and fully alive and almost all healthy Remus was right in front of her.
,,Oh, thank God, "Tonks sighed as she jumped into Remus' arms, he closed his arms around her.
Tonks lowered her head against Remus' shoulder, her hands holding him cramped. Remus gently stroked her back and placed kisses against her hair and forehead. He let her cry. This was not the first time he had found her in such a condition. They both often had nightmares, but they were usually able to control them. Usually, they were next to each other, ready to wake up at any moment and support the other, but Remus was not there tonight, and he felt guilty about it. Who knows how long she's been tortured by those nightmares when he was away?
,,Are you alright, my love?" Remus asked tenderly, kissing again her soft hair, which was now night blue.
She shook her head slightly, pulling Remus even closer. Remus raised his hand and let his fingers play through her hair. It always calmed her down, and after a few minutes, she had stopped crying. Remus smiled lightly and placed one of his hands on her round belly, massaging it lightly with his thumb.
,,Tell me about it, honey. "
Tonks took a deep breath and began to speak in a low voice, "Everything was fine at first. Me, you, Sirius, Magdalena, mother, and our newborn son were on a picnic in the woods, celebrating something ... I don't remember what. Everything was great, but then the Death Eaters appeared and they started attacking us. We wanted to resist, but then we discovered that we didn't have our wand. You told me to grab the baby and run away. I was looking for a baby, but I couldn't find him, he had just been by our side. I searched for him, but couldn't find him. The next moment I heard his cry and saw his on the ground, blood all around him. I ran to him and took him in my arms, he was alive, but blood flowed from his body, a lot of blood. And as I looked up from the child, I discovered that everyone else around us was dead. Everyone had their throats cut through, everyone. You were closest to us, and I crawled to you, still holding our crying baby. You were dead." she began to cry again, pressing her face against Remus' neck, "It was so awful. It ... the feeling I felt was like a part of me was dead."
,,I'm here, Dora, all is well, "Remus whispered against her hair, both hands surrounding her protective, holding her as close as her round baby belly let him.
,,I'm scared, Remus. I'm not ready to bring flowers to your grave. I can't lose you. Nor anyone else. And this nightmare ... won't leave me alone. It always starts differently, but always ends the same way. You all die. He will kill you all, just as he promised, "
,,He? "Remus frowned questioningly, he had doubts at whom she could be so afraid of, but he hoped his doubts were wrong.
,,Greyback, "Tonks replied in a trembling voice.
Remus sighed heavily and kissed her pale forehead," Don't be afraid, Dora. It's just a nightmare. I know it's scary, it's all terrible. I'm afraid, too. But I know we can do it."
,,I want him to die. Then I shouldn't be afraid. So I can sleep peacefully at night." she said.
Remus nodded sympathetically, he couldn't think of anything better than the death of that monster.
,,I am disturbed by one thought, "Tonks whispered suddenly.
,,And what is it? "Remus asked.
,,We've had quite a few opportunities to kill him. Why haven't we done that? "
Remus was silent for a while, thinking carefully about it. Dora was right. They could have killed him, but they hadn't. Why?
,,We are not like that. Death Eaters kill. We're stopping the bad ones." he said, his fingers played in her hair.
,,I'm tired. Will you stay here with me? "Tonks asked, yawning.
,,Of course, Dora, "Remus replied.
He was tired too. They lay down on the bed and fell asleep quickly. As soon as they were together again, no nightmare came to bother them, and they slept peacefully for several pleasant hours.
