When Shiro had been given direct orders from his Queen to rescue their kingdom's allies currently facing a losing battle. To save the men and allow the battle to end in failure for their allies, his only focus was to keep as many as his own men and allies alive. To make sure as many could retreat as safely as possible. 

He did not think that he would cross paths with someone he greatly admired and respected. 

The daughter of his own hero and the only and only Knightess in their generation. Most assumed she was the first female knight to ever be but some were certain that maybe in the history books of long ago, a women would be granted such a rare honour for their duties to their royal that sat with a crown. 

Not many approved over Knightess Katie Holt. 

Many looked down on the women, even after all the good she has done and the victories she has brought forward for her country. She was a skilled fighter and a genius. Using both physical and mental skills to help fight in battles and gain less deaths than anyone else. 

She placed the lives of the people before the war itself. 

But due to being shorter and holding less muscle to most men around her, she was deemed weak. With her caring for the lives around her, both her own people and the enemy, she was deemed too mothering for a knight that was meant to serve their king, their country and their god. 

Knightess Holt played by her own rules and both her king and prince allowed it to happen. Both held complete trust in her completing her given duties and to make their kingdom a better place for all. If she failed in her orders, she was rarely punished as both royals fully believed her very word over there being nothing more she could have done with the limited knowledge she had in the moment before failure. 

With the friendship she held with the royals and the friendship her own father held with the king. Most took that a chance to assumed she gained her title by her father's friendship with the royals. That she was more of a puppet for them to make dance for the people's entertainment whole the real heroes did the dirty work in the background and allowed her to be seen as the hero for their work. 

Shiro who has stood as both a knight and a hero since he was eighteen had fully believed Katie to be the heroic knight she was. He's seen her in acting a rare couple of times already and he's admired her work that held no link to battles and war as well. 

Shiro knew Katie deserved both respect and support from all.

He only wished she was a little more friendlier towards him whenever they did meet without any other royals or knights around them. That she held no rivalry between them like she did. He understood why, she was seen as less for standing as a women while he was raised up as a hero after gaining plenty of good rumours to his name as a prodigy soldier. 

Shiro was given favour and kindness by his country and the people.

Katie only held the support from those she served with regular and her family.
