Shiro halves the men he has with him into two teams. One team staying with him and Matthew to help escort the ladies and chief to the next settlement where they'd get a new needed wheel. As well as Shiro already sending word back to the Lion's city for more Guns of Gamara members to arrive at the next settlement to help finishing escorting the small caravan to the marriage ruins. 

The other two would be heading back with Keith overnight to Lion's city. All the captured bandits being brought back with them to be questioned and punished. Shiro wanted to know if these were the rumoured bandits that had been talked over or just new bandits that decided to push their luck in his turf. Shiro trusted Keith to deal with questioning them all without killing them.

It meant that while Katie stayed outside of the ladies wagon with her brother, both standing guard to give those inside the wagon some peace of mind as they slept. Neither learn over Keith's departure until he had already left. Shiro having came searching for his partner, planning to encourage him to sleep and request for Katie to get some sleep too if he found her still awake. Katie had asked Shiro if he had managed to get Keith to rest or if he'd be forcing himself to stay awake on guard instead. Only to learn over Keith having already left. 

Shiro and Matthew returned to their tent, their group having their own wagons full of supplies and needed tents for their travels compared to Keith and Katie packing what a single horse could carry. Katie had found her and Keith's blankets, scrunched up and buried in the sand. Picking them and whacking them against one of the wagon's wheels to remove the sand as best as she could. Giving up and just climbing into the back of the wagon with the other ladies for the night. 

With morning, Katie left Shiro to be the leader he was and speak with the ladies and Chief on his own. Matthew helping and ordering the Guns of Gamara about as they all prepare to head out later in the day. 

With not much to do, Katie decided to check on the guest strangers that had joined the caravan for partway travel together. Smiling as she found Hepta and hoping she could travel with him when he leaves. Pointing out the main fact that Keith had left without her and she had no horse to return home with for now. She only needed a ride to the next settlement and it would do Hepta some good to not travel alone in case anymore bandits are about. 

Hepta had agreed, welcoming her to sit at the front of the wagon with him once they get moving. Mentioning over how embarrassed he was over how messy his wagon was with his stock and belongings. 

Promising to head over when Hepta felt like leaving and just stepping away to check on her brother. She wanted to make sure Matthew had eaten some breakfast this morning after such a stressful night before. Knowing if she gets her brother to take a small break, he'd encourage Shiro to take a break as well. Both needed a small rest before they all start travelling again. 

Petting Cosmo and praising the bird who had helped them all and done so much for them all within the last twenty-four hours. Asking one more favour from the precious falcon before she set it lose to fly. Watching it gain some distance from them all and become a blur high in the sky above.
