Side Note: This one sucks, sorry.
Shiro had never meant to be seen as scary or danger.
He had never wanted someone to fear him or seem as strong by how hard he hits instead of seeming strong for him still standing after all he's been through as a child.
It all began by him always being slighter tougher than his classmates and always friendly and willing to help. The moment he saw a classmate or anyone in distress and in need of help, he's offer his help.
When he spotted bullying, he'd step in and help protect the one being preyed on.
Foe most of his childhood, he'd use his words and scold those who were doing wrong. Often seen as an nagging parent sometimes by others but his disappointing stare at least got them to apologize for their naughty actions.
When he hit pre-teens, he was dodging punches and defending himself. Learning that he was a harder hitter and a better fighter than others around his age. A fact that was learnt by everyone else too and the gossip began.
Not long afterwards Shiro would be dragged toward a fight to make quick work of it and bring it to an end with everyone else defeated. Or pulled into a fight by someone determined to defeat him and deem themselves as strongest.
The moment the fight was over and anyone in needing of being helped was safe, Shiro grew forgotten about. Everyone would always keep a distance from him until he was needed again.
And that had left Shiro alone.
He was surrounded by those who praised his name or feared him and yet, he had always felt so lonely.
Until the one person he's always known to appear and remind him that he was seen as himself and not an object that could be so easily passed out.
Katie had always been close by, always there when he was left feeling the loneliness creeping up his spine.
It had began when Shiro had still been in primary school, gotten grazed when he was shoved and fell over. He had helped the younger student who was being bullied but everyone had left the moment the fight was over, no one checking in on him.
Until someone did.
Katie had appeared out of nowhere, squatting down by his exposed arm and placing a star wars themed plaster on his graze. She glanced to the plaster, eyebrow furrowed before she lit up and leaned forward, placing a quick kiss to the plaster.
"Kiss it better" Katie whispered to herself, having remembered what she had forgotten.
Shiro just stared dumbly towards the girl a year below from him and watched as she just left without an actual word spoken to him.
Shiro didn't allow the plaster to be removed until it had peeled away by itself.
And every time Shiro had gotten hurt from helping someone or being dragged into a fight unwillingly. Katie would appear and clean up any cuts or grazes before placing disinfection and plasters to them. As he grew older and more muscle, the children sized star wars plasters didn't cover all cuts and he needed bigger ones. But Katie had grown better at art and had drawn star wars and spaced themed drawings on white sticky labels instead. She'd pull one off from their roll and stick it over the bigger and boring plasters. Making sure he gained his award of space themed plasters.
A habit that still happened even as they had hit their early thirties.
Shiro living his life as both a bouncer and a bartender left him still having to break up fights and help others during their times of drinking.
Night jobs wasn't something he had dreamed over having but it was all he could get. During his collage days, he had plenty of rumours spreading around over him. And those that gave him a chance, ignoring his past, he had strangers barge into any job he had at the time and demanding his help. Shiro couldn't leave someone alone that needed his help, he'd never live with the guilt if he ignored someone's suffering and learnt over something worse happening afterwards.
But with all those expecting and requesting his help, it left him losing job after job.
No matter what grades he gained or is friendly behaviour, he just wasn't welcome anyone.
Being a bartender was a start, the only jobs offered to him at the time and he had bills to pay. Than stopping fights and protecting costumers lead him to taking part time work as a bouncer.
It wasn't long before he was trapped swapping between bouncer and bartender at the White Lion Club. A place he's been working since he was eighteen and would most likely never leave. Coran, his boss, was at least understanding and knew Shiro wasn't just some thug at least.
And the job wasn't the worse, not when he got to work the same shifts at one of his favourite bartenders. Katie. She had followed after him and never missed a chance to clean up any wounds he's gained from a fight.
Her nights off, she might sit on a barstool and keep an eye on him before heading home before closing time. Sometimes waiting around if it's been an easy night and allowing Shiro to give her a ride home with his motorcycle.
Shiro knew that she would forever be caring for him and he hoped he got to prove to her someday that he'd always be here, ready to care for her the moment she needed him.
He knew he would always be there, he hasn't left home without a spare star wars plaster in his pocket since the day they had first met.
Just waiting for the day he could finally act as her knight in scruffy uniform.
To live their life when she's always caring for him as much as he'll stand caring for her.
