Criminal Past - Kidge.

This is more over telling you guys over an idea than an actual oneshot, sorry for the misleading title. 

I was left thinking to myself today and having a criminal past popped into my mind. I mean, I personally don't have one but I knew a few people who do. And it got me thinking over Kidge when they're adults and the war has long since passed. 

I feel like Katie might work for Garrison for a handful of years, staying with her family but she'd probably move to a new company on earth after moving in with Keith/when their relationship is a serious one or moving to a whole new planet with Keith and needing to work somewhere new. 

And working for the government, anywhere, probably the same on other planets too, you normally have to mention any criminal history to yourself or any family or friends around you that hold one. 

Katie IF she is married to Keith yet or if neither want marriage due to neither seeing the important of a ring to prove their love when they've always loved each other without one beforehand. And Katie casually mentioning Keith's teenager years since they are on his record.

So, I think both Keith and Katie would be up front over his criminal record. 

But what got me is IF someone/some alien had a problem when she so casually mentions Keith's record without much care. Knowing he was just an angry teen with temper problems and his crimes really weren't that bad. But still, this person/alien not liking the idea that this famous Holt scientist has someone with a record so close to them when they're going to be working for such an "important" company that is very insistent on top security. 

And of course, they mention something to Katie while she's sat in the interview with them. 

Keith would have held concerns over his past causing problems for the love of his life but Katie had always reassured him that his past wouldn't bring any trouble for her. Because Keith was a teen and he's changed, he's saved the universe and proved how much he changed from his angry teen days. And if others can't see that, they didn't deserve her genius self working for them. 

But Katie is still well.. Pidge Gunderson who snuck into the Garrison, escaped to space, fought cat people and sassed a Princess of a no longer existing planet or race. That was Katie during her own teen rebellion and emotional days. She would have grown up but still was a bit petty, strong willed and sassy. 

So, she replies with

Katie: Keith wouldn't have been the only one with a criminal record if I wasn't smart enough to just not get caught like he did. In fact, Keith would probably be out of a job due to my own skillsets IF I ever got caught. 

And these government workers/aliens just sit there in stunned and horrified silence because Katie just admitted she would have used her genius skillsets to commit a few crimes and just never got caught. But none of them could prove it since she didn't actual confess to anything. She could play that comment off as a joke if asked. 

Katie: I still have time to gain a record if I'm ever caught actually. 

Katie adds before standing up and swiftly leaving. Not wasting anymore time with people that judged her boyfriend/husband. She wasn't ever going to work for people that thought bad over the people she dearly loves. 

And of course, the company has a power cut on a random day not long after and the person who interviewed her are spooked that it was a warning sent from Katie over keeping their mouths shut. Katie has no part in the power cut that involves the systems going down and has no clue that this random person is now living in fear of her. 

Keith hears rumours over his girlfriend/wife wrath aimed at companies that she's rejected or walked out of interviews with. But he doesn't question it, he knows how scary Katie can truly be. 

So, everyone but Katie assumes she messes with all these companies that bad mouthed her lover and she never did. It was all a misunderstanding that Katie has no clue over and never gets the chance to prove they were mistaken over her "wrath" aimed at them.

Matthew knows, he would have heard the rumours and just laughed. Probably encouraged the rumours and gossip, being a cheeky sibling. 

And I'd like to think that during the time Keith left Voltron for the blades. The real reason he wanted to return to Voltron was probably because he realized he gained a family with them and he misses being loved. 

For example.

Keith standing in the food hall, feeling unloved, unneeded and lonely: Those that love me raise your hand.

And no one raises their hand. Leaving Keith to just standing there like a kicked puppy because normally at least one member of Voltron always lifted their hand to reminded him he wasn't unwanted and was loved in the space family. His girlfriend doing it even when she barely slept or in the middle of working on the lions, causing a few accidents to happen due to releasing a hand to lift at times. 

Also Keith: Mom raise your hand. You birthed me, you signed a contract to love me unconditionally.

And Krolia sheepishly lifts her hand, not having known what to do and assuming Keith was doing some earth culture thing: Sorry son.
