It's not until Six months later that Shiro gains the chance to see Knightess Katie again. Happily shocked to find her arriving at Altea's castle, clearly on guard duty to Prince Lotor as he's came for the peace talks between Altea and the current enemy. 

Though Shiro never gains a chance to speak with her until the very next morning, jogging after her when he notices her ahead of him down one of the many corridors. Neither are meant to start their shift just yet and Shiro knows it's a chance for him to speak with her.

He's kept his ear out for any talk over the Knightess since they parted. Learnt over her wound healing rather well and causing her no more suffering. Shiro still wasn't pleased over Keith becoming pen pals with Matt Holt, more so when he knows a lot of flirting goes on in those letters. Shiro still feared Katie's wrath over one of his men trying to woo her brother while she's away fighting their war. But at least by Keith writing many letters to Matt who writes twice as much back, Shiro learns more about Katie's health from his friend. 

Though it seems Matt agrees with Keith over him holding a crush for the knightess and Matt's taken it as his job to write about his sister a lot more often. Trying to sell her good points towards Shiro, knowing Keith would pass it on to him. As well as Matt willing to hint over his sister's whereabouts and what battles she's sent towards so Shiro could half track her location and be ready to head out if he hears that area of battle is close to falling in defeat. 

Shiro still refuses to accept his feelings openly, even if he re-reads the areas of the letters that mention Katie whenever he thinks Keith won't be returning to their shared room for a couple of hours. 

He is merely checking in on a comrade and not gushing over a crush and learning new things about her by her brother's help. 

"Knightess Holt, I'm glad over your arrival to the castle"  Shiro says with a huge smile as he finally catches up to her, knowing his echoing and rushed footsteps caught her attention long before his arrival did. 

"Takashi" Katie greets back with a nod as she begins walking again, not surprised as he matches her step to stay walking beside her. 

"Why do you only ever call me by my first name?" Shiro questions back rather curious, having noticed she's only ever used his first name to call him by. 

"Are offended over me using the name you were born with?" Katie asks back with a small frown, eyes unsure if she's been insulting him by using his name so freely. 

"Not at all. In fact, it brings me joy when you use my name" Shiro confuses with a gentler smile, eyes warm as he looks to her and hoping she'd never stop using his name to call him by. 

Katie gives an shy and awkward nod, eyes focused dead ahead and not daring to glance towards him. Shiro accepting he's made her flustered, knowing she's not best with most normal social gathers let alone friendlier ones. 

Instead Shiro enjoyed the content silence growing between them, happy he was allowed to stay walking with her and that she didn't seem in a bad mood so far. He was hoping that her calmer mood meant that no one within the castle had mentioned anything bad towards her or mocked her during her visits so far.
