Pidge may have made a small mistake over making such a large and powerful promise to Lance that day. She had assumed that once they find the next town or city, one that seemed friendly enough, the cat Demi-god and his two Ogres friends would be willing to start their own lives with this fresh start. That Lance would rush towards whatever interesting store or work place in need of hiring someone that caught his attention and he'd run off into starting his second chance. Or that some good looking lady or gentlemen would catch his eye and he'd race off to try and woo them, never looking back at the Gunderson team.  

But as Keith had mentioned, the cat had grown to be a stay they couldn't be rid off so easily. Lance had stayed with team Gunderson since. He was enjoying seeing the world and seemed to feel safe around Pidge and Cosmo. He was a little uneasy around Keith at first, just as Hunk and Shay were, but the three grew comfortable with Keith once realizing he wasn't as bad as he looked scary. 

Hunk and Shay were in fact dating and decided to stay with Gunderson's team too. Hunk sticking with his best friend, through thick and thin, and wanting to settle down once he knew his friend would finally find a home for himself too. Shay was happy to wait to find home with Hunk until Lance had found somewhere or someone to call home. 

Keith and Pidge had learnt that Shay wasn't apart of the curse. She had been found by the mermaids when she was floating within the ocean and they helped saved her. She's stayed at the castle since without ever once activating the spell. Not long before she gained feelings for Hunk who grew the same feelings of love for her. And she's chose to stay trapped to the castle with Hunk, knowing she'd never live happy free if he wasn't with her. 

With Gunderson team now holding more members, it meant their missions became a lot easier or a lot harder. Hunk and Shay were Ogres but they were the kindest souls known and didn't really like to fight or use their born given strength to harm others. And Lance was more of a long distance fighter with his bow skills. But the three were pure chaos whenever joining on a mission with Keith, Pidge and Cosmo. 

It earned team Gunderson having to grow new feet and learn to work together all over again. Or at least keep Shay and Hunk guarding the exit from the outside while the rest of the team head inside to do the mission themselves. That often worked a lot better. 

And Pidge would also soon learn that once you collect one stray, you start to collect many more. 

It's how they met Sir Shirogane and Sir Wright. Shiro and Adam were both knights sent by their crowned prince to rescue Princess Romelle who were trapped in the randomly located castle. The crowned prince had actually started the rescue party himself, researching the princess location and tracking her down. But he was called back to his kingdom before he could finish the last bit of his plans to save her and trusted his two knights to do what he was unable to do for him. 

With a party made up of two demi-gods, an half Galran, two Ogres and a teleporting wolf. It did lead to some mix ups during a rescue. Earning both Shiro and Adam to assume they were the protectors of the castle and tried to defeat them.
