A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..

Sam Holt was a Jedi who was known to be kind.

He was a well loved and well respect Jedi that had fought bravely during the Clone Wars and was always offering his help without any strings attached. He was always happy to help his friends and strangers he crossed paths with. 

There was two main facts known over Sam Holt. 

One, He was a good person.

Two, That the rare times he asked for help you knew it was truly important and he was desperate. 

No one had cared that Sam was dating Queen Colleen, having known her before she became Queen. Colleen was Sam's whole world and a huge supporter of the Jedi. 

Jedi weren't meant to hold any attachments, any relationships but every Jedi broke at least one rule in their life. No one cared over dating or marriage as long as you didn't formal announce such a relationship. As long as you never mention someone as your partner or marriage partner, no one would mention anything. 

So, it wasn't a surprise when Sam and Colleen became engaged. They weren't meant to be dating and Sam planned to marry his very own soulmate after he retires as a Jedi. Colleen agreed to wait until his retirement. Sam was often a support for her during her duties as a Queen. 

Neither was the surprise of the birth of their son, Matthew Holt, who soon became a youngling as he held the same gift as his father. Something his parents were both proud over but encourage their son to also think for himself as he grew up, not wanting him to feel forced to follow the force. 

It was eight years after their birth of their son that Sam Holt had finally asked for help towards so many Jedi's. Attempts on his wife's life had been happening more and more over the last few years, the attempts not slowing as she stood pregnant with their second child. 

Sam had tried to encourage his wife to stay away from Naboo, at least until their second child was safely born. But Colleen was as stubborn as always and refused to stand down as Queen when she knew her people and her planet needed her more than ever. 

It was after a serious close call with Colleen ending up in hospital and their daughter, their second child, born forcefully early to save the pair of them. That Sam knew he needed to ask the Jedi Council for their help. Knowing his wife has helped the Jedi over the years and helped to rise the trust towards the Jedi by passing on their good deeds to those who were willing to hear.  

And The Jedi Council had agreed to help. To send a few Jedi knights to act as bodyguards for Colleen at the next event on Naboo that she was needed to stand as Queen during. Sam had feared for his wife's safety, knowing she had only had two months to recover and was still not at complete health just yet. But he never could control his wife and he never dreamed to be controlling either. He couldn't stop her from discharging herself early and leaving.
