Earth wasn't doing so well at all.

It had been overran with Galra and the few rebelling humans were struggling to hold anything they've gained in the fight.

It left the paladins all flying out in their lions the moment they saw the state of their home planet was in.

Katie rolling her shoulders and doing a few stretches before she was teleporting from fighter jet to cruiser and causing as much trouble and damage as she could. Helping to give the Galra a good beating while not getting caught up in Voltron's attacks either.

She may have gotten a little worked up when she bashed up a cruiser on her own after it had shot towards Voltron's head, the very head that was holding her very important someone. So, she may have lost her cool and broke the cruiser bad enough that the soldiers were using their escape pods while it crashed down towards earth.

Leaving both her, using Yellow's power and Voltron to awkward catch the broken apart cruiser and help lower it to the ground without letting it explode. She could feel all five of her parents disapproval and worry through the bond and knew she would be lectured greatly after the battle was done.

But with the cruiser crashed on the ground, it left a retreat for the Galra still floating in the skies of Earth. Retreating to the bases they've built on Earth so far or to fly higher and float above the planet.

Giving Voltron the chance to disband and the castle to land. Katie staying outside, staring up towards space as she knew Sendak was somewhere up there. He'd never settle into a base on the planet he was hoping to destroy, she had hoped he'd come out to play once Voltron had arrived but he had stayed back and only watched instead.

She only turned away and teleported towards the entrance of the castle she noticed her special someone was rushing out. She knew he was planning to head over to her, to check up on her now the battle was over with for now. She wasn't going to allow him to tire himself out by wasting energy on running towards her when she could just hop over in the blink of an eye.

"Did you get hurt during the battle?" Shiro asked with pure concern, eyes already scanning her over as his hands gently held at her arms to keep her still.

"Not a scratch" Katie promises with an reasuring smile, eyes honest as she met his worried gaze.

"Don't be so reckless next time, Katie. We don't hold the power to bring back the dead in this universe. I don't want to lose you" Shiro huffs out in relief, leaning down and resting their foreheads together.

Katie smiles at him like a sap, filling with warmth and pure joy as she's reminded over how loved she was. She's been on the run for so long, been travelling and keeping to herself to protect her parents powers and those around her for so long that she never thought she could be someone's whole world. She adored the taller man before her, gave her whole heart to him for now and forever.

"I love you" Katie whispers warmly, needing him to know.

And the smile Shiro gives her at her words actual lights up the whole universe. It was precious and private and aimed only at her, like always. It was something she wanted to see every single day of her life.
