"Fuck this" Jisung mumbles, kicking a stone over the street. He left Changbin and Chan alone at home, hoping to give them some privacy for whatever they're doing. His nightmares started to catch up to him lately, but instead of saying anything he keeps it to himself and suffers in silence.
He walks towards an abandoned train bridge in the middle of the woods. "Might just stay here for tonight." He sighs, while sitting down at the edge, watching the water under him flow towards the shiny city not far away. He grabs his bag and pulls his squirrel plushie Chestnut out of it.
"The sight is beautiful, isn't it?" Of course he doesn't expect an answer, but it's better to talk to a plushie than to the air. He starts humming a song that is stuck in his mind.
"It comes in waves, I close my eyes, hold my breath and let it bury me. I'm not okay and it's not alright. Won't you drag the lake and bring me home again?"
He looks up at the sky, watching how the stars are looking like they would hang down from up there. "Well Chestnut, living doesn't really make sense now, does it? Being in love is one thing but being loved back is another. And even if they would love me back, they couldn't stand a relationship with me anyway, I'm way too damaged."That's the moment where it gets to him, the darkness of his past. The thoughts about how he should've died in this fire that killed his family and how only a friendship kept him from finding peace.
"They saved me, but I never wanted to be saved."
He hugs Chestnut tightly. "Sorry, those demons dragged me down." Those were his last words before he let himself fall from that bridge. Eyes closed, only the laughter of his friends in his ears."Chan, he isn't answering his phone." Changbin takes his phone away from his ear, eyes filled with fear.
"Binnie, he will be okay." Chan pulls the younger into a hug. But the younger one pushes him off.
"Are you really stupid or do you just not care?" Tears started to fall off Changbin's face.
"No. I trust him. He's 16, he knows what he's doing." The older tries everything to calm his boyfriend down.
"Shut up Bang Chan! My baby is somewhere out there! On his own! You know suicidal kids don't care!" Changbin yells, while putting on his shoes. "You'll stay here in case he comes back home!" With that he leaves the house and a shocked Chan.
Wooyoung turns around, grabbing his ringing phone from the table behind him. "Binnie?""I need your help, right now!" The other sobs. "Jisung isn't answering his phone and I don't know where he is. Woo, please."
As soon as the name 'Jisung' is heard, San jumps up. "Let's go."Wooyoung and San nod towards each other, leaving the house to help Changbin search for the boy.
An old tree. That's everything that kept Jisung's lifeless body from flowing further into the town. Chestnut still close to his chest. He looks peaceful and calm. By looking at his face you could think he's slightly smiling.
"No, no, no." Changbin breaks down next to Jisung's bag. "I knew it."Wooyoung puts his hand onto Changbin's shoulder. "No matter what, we will find him."
"It doesn't matter if we find him. I knew he would do it as soon as we left him alone. That little stupid idiot." Changbin sobs into the bag he's holding on his chest. "I should've never let him go."
"Binnie, I need you to calm down. I know this is hard, but if we want to find him you need to breathe." Wooyoung holds back his own tears.
While Wooyoung is trying everything to get his best friend to calm down, San starts following the river towards the town. His only goal is to find his best friend, no matter if dead or alive. He lets his flashlight go over the water again and again, but it is too dark to see anything. At a certain point something glows when it gets hit with the light. San decides to walk up to the glowing thing. His eyes widen when he recognizes the thing that reflected the light.
"Guys!" He yells, hoping the other two will hear him. He runs towards the water, instinctively grabbing the hood of the body. "Hold on, we got you." He sobs, dragging the body of his best friend out of the water.
"Jisung?" He looks down at the other's face, which turned white already.
He doesn't think anymore and just starts cpr at the younger. "You won't go that easily and once you're back; I'll beat you up for this."Wooyoung and Changbin run up to the lifeless body on the floor.
"No! Jisung!" Changbin yells, holding his chest. "That's not true. That's not real." He shakes his head, more tears falling from his face.
Coughing. Jisung needs air but he only gets coughs out of his mouth, and suddenly someone drags his upper body up. He can't resist the urge of throwing up."You idiot!" San glares at his best friend, pulling him into a hug. "Don't you dare to do stuff like that ever again."
Jisung can hear a silent sobbing close to him, he turns towards Changbin and Wooyoung. Regret hits him as soon as he can see Changbin hidden in Wooyoung's neck, crying like he lost a loved one.
"Bin?" He says in a weak voice, hoping it's enough for the other one to hear.
Changbin instantly shoots around. "Jisung!" He runs up to the younger and forces him into a hug. "Don't you dare to leave me. I love you; I really do. Not like a friend or a brother but like a man I want to spend the rest of my fucked-up time with." Changbin sobs into Jisung's neck.
"I-I... love you too." Jisung mumbles, earning wide eyes from Wooyoung and San.
"Really?" Changbin cups Jisung's face with his hands, looking the younger deep into his eyes.
Jisung bites his lip and nods, followed by Changbin who kisses Jisung with all the love he has for the youngest.
