In the distant past there has been numerous individuals who have undertaken the trial to obtain control over their own fate and it goes without saying that many of these individuals have failed in their attempts.

The first person to undertake the trial successfully had done it as a means of confirming their Dao and not only had they succeeded but they had also made a cultivation breakthrough the moment they broke free of the chains that bound them.

Another had taken the trial as a means of testing themselves and to see just how wide the gap that divides a human from a monarch truly is. The results that this person had obtained on that day is something that left them in frustration over the limitations that humans had been born with.

These two individuals had been the first to clear Yi Zhu Xian's trial but following the events of a second success a chain of practitioners who received the qualifications to challenge this trial had all perished in failure.

Eventually ages passed and the tales of the two predecessors had been completely forgotten about as the world enters a new era with a new history.

One could say that the world at that time had been a blank slate in which the concept of cultivation was long lost until it was eventually rediscovered by the primordial denizens of that time period and brought to light.

Naturally the concept of cultivation had always started from the origins of Qi Condensation.

No one really knew just how much time it had taken for the world of that time period to become a world in which practitioners of different clans and sects roamed freely and even more time is stacked on top of that for the cultivation world to enter the era of Foundation Establishment.

Little by little comes the realms of Core Formation that is eventually succeeded by the Nascent Soul realm.

By then civilization has become a lot more modern causing the formation of a world that is somewhat similar to the present time period.

For the Original Monarchs at the time they didn't see any of this as something to be surprised by as they have witnessed this idea of evolution far too many times in the past.

To them everything had seemingly occurred within the blink of an eye until Yi Zhu Xian finds herself looking upon a practitioner of that era challenging her trial. In the face of her trial that practitioner had perished but rather quickly many others took up the mantle in the hopes of reclaiming their fate.

It wasn't until eons later that a third had followed in the forgotten predecessors' footsteps and completed the trial.

The reason that this person had decided to undergo this trial was to change their eventual fate of death. But this person didn't want to just have control over their own fate. They had also wanted the power to freely alter this concept in a way that is similar to the Original Monarch that is meant to be the incarnation of fate and destiny.

Although this person did succeed in taking control of their fate whether or not they had been granted the rights to alter this concept is unknown.

The reasons that these individuals had taken the trial varied but each of them are what's considered a defiant cultivator, those who went against the natural orders of life and refused to live under the reigns of the monarchs' pre-established laws.

Even though most of these individuals who had challenged the authorities of the monarchs had perished in failure none of them are people that could have been forgotten about in their individual eras for they are the strongest of their generation with numerous legends attached to their names.
