"..."

Hearing what Li Wen knew about the Spirit Crane Sect Ye Gui Feng puts on a solemn expression as he sorts through the information that he had just acquired.

At minimum a disciple of the Spirit Crane Sect possesses a Core Formation realm of cultivation.

Elders such as Li Wen must possess at least an Earth Paragon's level of cultivation to join their ranks.

To Ye Gui Feng individuals in the Paragon Immortal realm of cultivation are of no concern but amongst those elders there are two prime elders both of which possesses an Exalted Celestials' realm of cultivation.

As for the head of the sect-

(If there's two Exalted Celestials who are willing to act as prime elders then...)

Those who managed to become Exalted Celestials do not bow their heads easily. Even if they were to bow their heads the person they serve must be-

(The person above them can only be a Half-Monarch.)

With that being the case the Xia family must also possess a Half-Monarch of their own for that is the only way for them to have kept the Spirit Crane Sect at bay and resulted in the current situation of there being a stalemate between the two factions.

(In the end it really is the worst-case scenario...)

Considering how Li Wen's information is well over a year old they may no longer be accurate, but it was still better than having nothing to work with.

(My main body still hasn't managed to fully absorb the Asura Monarch's power over lightning. Seems like I've underestimated the amount of time needed. I wonder if Yi has had better luck...?)

.........

"..."

Reading through the information sent to him through the purple slip of jade that is currently held in his hand Yi compares them to what he had learned from interrogating the seventh elder of the Xia family.

"*Sigh*"

For the most part the information acquired by his subordinates matches with what Yi managed to get out of the seventh elder which is the reason behind his sigh.

The Xia family comes from one of the many outside worlds that exists within the domains of the outer heavens.

To be more specific they had originated from a world called the Continent of the Everlasting Sun.

In that continent the Xia family had been the strongest faction without dispute due to the presence of their divine ancestor, Xià Huāng Hǎi (夏荒海).

(Xia Huang Hai, the Continent of the Everlasting Sun's only Half-Monarch.)

Drawing the same thoughts as Ye Gui Feng about how the worst-case scenario had truly happened Yi can't help but frown as he massages his left temple with his thumb.

More than a decade ago the Continent of the Everlasting Sun had collapsed.

The exact reason for that world's destruction isn't clear, but in most cases a world's collapse is often linked to it reaching the end of its natural lifespan.

Right after the collapse of their world there is a large blank in the Xia family's history and this wasn't surprising as they were left to roam the outer heavens in search of a new place to establish themselves.

Perhaps a series of coincidences had occurred during the time in which the Xia family had been left to roam the outer heavens or it could have been because Xia Huang Hai's immediate target for a new place to settle his family into had been the Four Great Hells, but regardless of the reason the Xia family have indeed arrived into the domains of the Four Great Hells and have decided to inhabit this land that is home to the dead.

"..."

Storing the slip of purple jade away Yi stares at the doors of the seventh elder's room in silence.

Even if he has plenty of cards hidden in his sleeves none of them mattered because they cannot aid him in killing two Half-Monarchs.

"Hm?"

Sensing a disturbance in his storage space Yi opens it and immediately a jade slip flies out from within. This is the very same jade slip that would allow communication between him and Ye Gui Feng.

[Any ideas on how to kill two Half-Monarchs?]

Seeing the message that is sent to him through the jade slip Yi can only laugh with bitterness and reply with a negative answer.

[How confident are you in the security measures that are used to guard the central domain?]

"..."

Seeing Ye Gui Feng's next message a gleam emanates from Yi's eyes.

[You intend to trap them inside there?]

[If there's no other way to exit the central domain after the entrance is sealed then yes.]

[That may just work if everything inside is functioning properly. Problem is how are you going to lure them in?]

[Do we really need something to lure them in with? Isn't their goal the Hell River Sect's legacy?]

[And what if I tell you that the Xia family's interest is merely to inhabit this place? The Spirit Crane Sect might be willing to work something out with the Xia family in exchange for them keeping quiet about the former's attainment of the legacy.]

Between Xia Huang Hai and the Spirit Crane Sect's Half-Monarch it would be difficult to say which of them is more powerful than the other in a genuine fight.

But Yi didn't think the Spirit Crane Sect's Half-Monarch to be strong enough to keep Xia Huang Hai from leaving if the situation becomes disadvantageous for the Xia family.

"..."

Upon sending this message Yi had to wait for a full minute before Ye Gui Feng sent his reply.

[...Then we may need a reason to force the Xia family into the central domain.]

[This is your plan so you've got any underhanded tricks in mind?]

[Mortals fear the unknown. Regardless of them being a practitioner or not fear is an innate trait in humans. We'll simply have to make the Xia family fearful of death to the point that they'll want to find some way to resolve the issue.]

[And this method to resolve that issue is supposed to be in the central domain? How are you going to create an issue that cannot be resolved by a Half-Monarch?]

[That curse of yours, are you certain that it cannot be detected by a Half-Monarch?]

[...Underhanded tricks truly are your specialty.]

[And what is that supposed to mean? Whatever I'll take that as a yes. We'll simply just have to cause a few deaths here and there with that curse.]

Thinking about the details of his plan Ye Gui Feng is reminded of the incident that happened within the Yao family when he and Xiao Ju Hong had first arrived in this time period.
