Despite facing a genuine monarch the phantom figure with beast ears raises the two meter bow in her hand fearlessly and notches an arrow of energy onto its string with practiced movement.

Upon the bowstring being tugged an air of danger that is reminiscent of an unsheathed blade hanging over one's neck homes in on Ji Di Tian.

As this phantom is a part of the First Heaven's ability that calls upon the entirety of Ji Rong Kingdom and those who had pledged their fealty to it all her attacks contain a portion of Duo Tian's Absolute Law so in theory she and the other phantom bodies should be capable of wounding Ji Di Tian.

*...!* even before the thought of evading or closing in on the phantom figure can appear in Ji Di Tian's head a second source of imminent danger manifests.

This danger is vastly different from the first for it gives off the impression of a sinister creature lurking in a dark corner while waiting to sink its fangs into its prey's vitals when they least expect it.

At this time the phantom figure in the distance has already pulled the bowstring to its limit but just as Ji Di Tian is about to ignore the second source of danger and move-

[...]

A trail of misty darkness positions itself in front of him and his eyes for reasons unknown are naturally drawn to its smoky qualities that reminded him of an ocean's surface at night.

*.........* soundlessly two golden lights manifest from within the body of dark mist and-

[...]

Gazing into the glowing orbs of light Ji Di Tian's mind abruptly enters a trance.

Using this opening the phantom figure in the distance releases the string of her bow sending the arrow of energy towards the Ji Di Tian's head!

In the time it takes for one to blink their eyes the arrow of energy pierces through the misty darkness causing it to dissipate and without pausing it continues to charge towards Ji Di Tian's forehead!

[...!]

Having only recovered his conscience just as the arrow is right in front of him it was already too late for Ji Di Tian to do anything to defend himself and in the next instance-

*...!!!* if one is able to witness this scene in slow motion it would probably look as if a watermelon had exploded without warning.

As fresh blood scatters it's clear that the arrow has piercing through its target with the ease of a knife through paper but-

[...]

Despite having landed her arrow perfectly the phantom figure constricts her eyes with her lips giving off the impression of a subtle frown as she eyes the headless body of Ji Di Tian falling backwards.

If killing a monarch had been this easy the matters of the past would have been a lot simpler.

[...]

Notching a second arrow of energy onto the bow the phantom figure takes aim and this time she targets the headless body's chest.

Pulling the string to its limit the phantom releases the arrow in the next second but-

*...!* just as it would seem like the arrow is about to reach the headless body the target breaks itself apart to form a sea of blood.

*Boom!* having lose its intended target the arrow that enters this sea detonates causing a portion of the bloody sea to scatter and this portion quickly reforms into an army of masked figures.

The situation doesn't end there as the sea of blood continues to produce the same figures and within three short breaths' worth of time the final portions of the sea is depleted leaving a vast army of masked figures to replace its presence.

Even with the sea gone Ji Di Tian was nowhere to be seen leaving one to think that he must have hid within the masses that he had created.

[...]

Knowing the special characteristics of these masked figures the phantom figure with beast ears refrains from attacking at random and have instead chosen to wait for the moment the enemy decides to reveal their tail.

(Looks like amongst those who have pledged their fealty to Ji Rong there's a few oddities.)

Recalling the golden lights that appeared on the misty darkness's body Ji Di Tian felt as if an eternity had passed by the time he had realized the arrow's arrival.

(At the rate they are being depleted I still need to wait for-)

Seven minutes, that is the amount of time that Ji Di Tian had estimated when looking at the two celestial bodies that are being consumed by their own flames.

[Uh?]

Just as Ji Di Tian prepares to move with the masked figures that he had created he pauses in his footsteps.

[Back is it?]

Tendrils of dark mist washes over the army of masked figures like a swarm of serpents and as these streams of mist expands in volume they quickly shroud Ji Di Tian and his army in a world of darkness.

Within this world the feral scent of fresh blood can readily be picked up with a single sniff and for those who aren't used to this scent they would surely vomit in discomfort.

But even worse than this pungent scent of iron would have to be the terrifying wave of killing intent that is constantly crushing down on the shoulders of this world's captives.

(A formation of some kind? Or is it a domain?)

Having some of the masked figures take three steps forward the sound of water being splashed around is picked up by Ji Di Tian's ears.

As far as Ji Di Tian is able to tell it wasn't water that rests beneath his feet but such details are hardly worthy of his concerns when the more pressing matter-

*...! ...! ...!* are the shadowy hands that are rising up from below and coiling themselves around the legs of the masked figures.

As a number of these masked figures drop in height it's clear that these shadowy hands are dragging them downwards into whatever it is that they are standing on.
