[What is the true purpose of the Four Great Hells?]

Having been trapped in this time period Ye Gui Feng figured that he wouldn't have to associate himself with the Four Great Hells anymore but thinking about the events that had happened during his time spent in the Fourth Hell he can't help but feel that something is amiss.

[The Four Great Hells' purpose has always been to fight off foreign invaders regardless of their origins being from this world or from the worlds outside.]

[...Does the worlds outside refer to the Primordial Continent or does it refer to the many worlds that can potentially become a prime world?]

[How much do you know of the Four Great Hells?]

Setting a stone down Yi asks this question with a look of amusement.

[The leaders of the Four Great Hells to my knowledge are Feng Zhu, Gui Zhu, Zhan Zhu, and Wu Zhu. From what Feng Zhu told me the pocket realms like the Full Moon Spring of Spirits along with the Hells had all been a part of a single world during Jiu Dao's time before they broke into pieces and were sent off into separate worlds.]

As Ye Gui Feng sets his next stone down Yi nods in confirmations and answers-

[Correct. Well, correct in the sense of giving someone else a broad overview of the Four Great Hells and its background.]

[My cultivation base back then wasn't anything decent compared to now. Even if they did hide some truths from me I can't really complain. Speaking of my earlier days I recalling someone saying these words to me then: "Our world in the eyes of the other worlds is considered to be an enemy world. These other worlds desire one of two things, to take it over or destroy it." If I recall the person who said those words to me then claims to belong to an organization named Garden of the Fallen Gods.]

[Hahaha even with a blank in your memory you still managed to remember this?]

Picking up the cup of wine Yi downs it in a single gulp before refilling it and setting it off to the side.

[I only know someone from that organization said those words to me in the past. As for how I met them and when I'm not too clear.]

[This planet, no this region of the Starry Seas is rather special because it holds the Four Great Hells. "Worlds outside" is referring to both the worlds outside of this region and those that are beyond the Primordial Continent. Regardless of all events this region is not to fall under any circumstances, hence the job of those belonging to the Garden is to constantly collect information from all corners of the world near this one in preparation for war.]

While saying these words Yi sets down a stone and captures one of the black stones that Ye Gui Feng had set previously.

[Why is this region of the Starry Seas so important?]

[Ask yourself why does the Four Great Hells exist here of all places? Why was it in such dire need of repairs?]

[Hells outside of the four... Do they exist?]

Capturing a white stone Ye Gui Feng replies with another question to which Yi answers-

[The Lesser Hells are what the Hells outside of the Four Great Hells are called.]

Processing this bit of information Ye Gui Feng thought back to one of the things that Chong Tianzi had said about Yi.

[All these Hells are all related to the Hell River Sect that was originally established on this location.]

[The lands of all the Hells combined equates to the sacred ground of the Hell River Sect and the Four Great Hells are at the center of this sacred ground. Only by gathering all the Lesser Hells and combining them with the Four Great Hells will the Hell River Sect be reestablished and the one to do so... May be hailed as the sect master.]

Being the sect master of the Hell River Sect is akin to being the governor of all souls but judging by the joking tone that Yi had used-

[So that's why Ni Liu is considered so important and seen as something to be taken by the worlds outside? Simply just to become the sect master of the Hell River Sect? What of Ming Ye Chuan? Isn't he the true establisher of this sect?]

Things can't possibly be so simple.

[Is that what this region of the Starry Seas is called now? Well to answer your question rumor says he no longer exists and the purpose of reestablishing the Hell River Sect could very well be tied to his legacy.]

[So becoming the sect master also means becoming a genuine monarch through succession?]

[By the time the Hell River Sect's destruction had occurred I was already a traitor of the sect so I can't say for certain. But this is what those who have knowledge of the Four Great Hells and the Lesser Hells have come to conclude over time.]

Feeling as if Yi is hiding something beyond his smile Ye Gui Feng treated these words with skepticism.

(By the time he had become a traitor... Looks like during Jiu Dao's era the Hell River Sect's holy ground had already been divided.)

[Doubt me all you like. Though I may not have said the complete truth I didn't lie either.]

[Isn't that also indirectly saying that you have lied in a sense?]

[It's necessary because you've yet to make your decision.]

[Decision?]

[My lips are sealed on that matter due to my master's words. Now then anything else you would like to know?]

[Let's see... How about you tell me what you intend to do in the midst of all this chaos?]

Capturing a white stone Ye Gui Feng raises his next question.

[I feel like I've really gotten rusty to not see this move coming.]
