(I doubt my situation in the present era is any better than Shura's.)

The moment Chong Tianzi had seen the Asura Monarch in a weakened state he knew that he himself in the modern era isn't an exception to the same fate hence he has already begun to think of a few ways to deal with the matter.

(If this artificial world is as bizarre as I think it is...)

Looking to Hua Luo an odd gleam appears in Chong Tianzi's eyes.

The first method that came to mine when attempting to resolve this issue would be to consume Half-Monarchs and refine them into raw energy that can be absorbed by the body.

If he can soul search Hua Luo to obtain more knowledge about the unknown person who had just terrorized him with a single gaze this knowledge might be transferred to his present day self.

(Should my present day self be able to consume that person they should be able to recover more than a quarter of their former strength. However...)

Was this even doable when his present day self is already in a weakened state?

It goes without saying that those who are able to become Half-Monarchs are not ordinary so would such an individual go down so easily when challenged?

Mo Ye Zi's final act is a prime example of how stubborn a Half-Monarch is.

Even in death those worthy of being a Half-Monarch would continue to cling onto a string of hope so that they may have a chance at exacting revenge against those who have wronged them.

Would people as stubborn as that be willing to become someone else's sacrificial fodder?

(Going all out for gains that might not even be practical under these circumstances...)

To Chong Tianzi this didn't seem worth it.

Being the one who experienced the brunt of that gaze's hostile intent Chong Tianzi is given a reminder that even with the defensive capabilities of his armor he would still sustain heavy injuries should he throw caution aside and fight recklessly in the hopes of settling this matter with haste.

Deciding not to proactively try for a capture Chong Tianzi grasps the dark spear with both hands before snapping it in half and tossing it aside.

In the same instance the Asura Monarch seems to have come to his own decisions on the same matter as he slaps the empty air seemingly for no reason but as Chong Tianzi focuses his gaze he quickly sees a tiny object approaching him with extreme speed!

As this object draws closer to him Chong Tianzi immediately recognizes it to be the same needle he had used against the Asura Monarch.

*...!!!* clenching his right hand into a fist Chong Tianzi throws out a single strike and-

As soon as the force behind this punch collides with the needle the body of the needle is quickly covered in cracks that are thinner than hair and from these cracks Fox Fire and streams of lightning spews outwards.

[Seal.]

Having grasp over the amount of damage the needle has sustained from Chong Tianzi's attack the Asura Monarch quickly draws out the character for seal (封) and pushes it towards the needle.

With speed that surpasses the needle's movement the character instantly infuses itself into the needle's body causing the expanding cracks to mend themselves.

However, this was clearly just a temporary means to an end.

Right now the needle might as well be an unstable volcano that's been capped.

Seeing the needle that is still approaching him with extreme speed Chong Tianzi smiles mockingly beneath his mask without showing any signs of wanting to evade.

He can naturally sense just how much energy has been sealed into the needle but-

[Fine, I'll let you see just how powerful my defenses are at this time.]

Taking a step forward Chong Tianzi transforms into a beam of golden light and within the blink of an eye less than 20 meters of distance separates him from the incoming needle!

In this instance the flow of time seems to have slowed and frame by frame the beam of golden light that is Chong Tianzi gradually approaches the needle.

[Break.]

Without waiting for Chong Tianzi to make direct contact with the needle the Asura Monarch voluntarily breaks the seal that is holding the needle together and-

*...!!!!!!!!!!!!* following this a deafening explosion goes off as the energy trapped in the needle detonates sending a blast that takes on the form of an ever-expanding ring of Fox Fire and lightning outwards!

Caught in the center of this blast Chong Tianzi felt a heavy force of impact smashing onto him from the front.

But despite having been swallowed by both Fox Fire and lightning energy Chong Tianzi continues to make his charge as he uses a speed that surpasses the rate in which the blast can expand to shorten the distance that separates him from Hua Luo!

In response to Chong Tianzi's approach in the form of a golden beam Hua Luo immediately begins to retreat and while doing so he rotates his cultivation base fiercely as the seven powers that supports him erupts from his body!

[Board!]

Waving his right hand Hua Luo summons the projection of a Go board and following this his left hand does the same causing eight black stones to appear and lower themselves onto the board.

*...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...!* in accordance to the number of stones set on the Go board eight black stone manifests to circle around Chong Tianzi.

[Capture!]

Clapping his hands together Hua Luo utters this word and the eight black stones that are circling around Chong Tianzi gives off a faint glow.

[...!?]

As each stone gives off an odd force of energy Chong Tianzi widens his eyes as the extreme speed he had been utilizing to make his approach abruptly comes to a stop with his true body exposed!
