Towards the mentioning of an underground lake the only one that came to Ye Gui Feng's mind and fits the criteria of being in the Fourth Hell is the place where he had trained in the past.

(I do recall that behind the inverse waterfall was a spherical hollow. Is that the place that they want to go to? But other than a magic array being present there at the time I didn't see anything else...)

Perhaps there truly was nothing there or it might have been because his cultivation base was too low at the time but regardless-

(From what I can remember that magic array didn't seem ordinary so for it to be there it must have served a purpose. As for what that purpose is... I suppose I'll find out about it soon.)

[That place was indeed odd... Has the Xia family still not discovered it?]

"I'm rather confident in the array that I had set to hide it but since old six and those who had gone with him had died I've yet to find out what it is that is in there."

"And why is it that you want to know what's there?"

"...Disciples of the sect are sent out on a daily basis to both patrol and to see if they can find the Fourth Hell's flag. That place might have it."

(So the original flag really did vanish...)

Obtaining this confirmation raises Ye Gui Feng's confidence towards the success rate of his scheme.

"I'm surprised by how little effort is put into searching that place then."

[That's because this scumbag wants to hog all the credits for himself and hasn't told anyone about that place.]

Towards Li Wen's remark the sixth patriarch snorts with disdain before turning to Ye Gui Feng with a courteous expression on his face.

"Judging by senior's reaction to all this you're probably not a Xia family clansman. If your goal is also to obtain a bit of the Hell River Sect's legacy I think we can cooperate."

Towards the sixth patriarch's suggestion Ye Gui Feng inwardly laughed with ridicule.

(Looks like this sixth patriarch- no, the entirety of the outside world sees those who are a part of the Primordial Continent as nothing more than weaklings.)

Being underestimated by the outside world is completely fine in Ye Gui Feng's eyes as it meant that he can exploit his advantages of having the element of surprise.

"Cooperate? And why should I cooperate with you? Why not simply cooperate directly with the Half-Monarchs?"

"...I mean no offense to senior but you're not an actual Half-Monarch-"

*Kak!* as the branch in Ye Gui Feng's hand snaps in half the sixth patriarch-

Hurriedly corrected himself and said everything in a single breath.

Tossing the branch aside Ye Gui Feng puts on an expression of thought while occasionally glancing at the sixth patriarch in an assessing manner almost as if he is trying to estimate their worth.

(This person shouldn't be in that of a hurry to reveal his presence to the ancestor. I just need some time and once I remove whatever restrictions that he placed onto me I'll have plenty of ways to deal with him.)

(Is probably what he's thinking. Hmm I need some time to create a sense of tension and urgency in this place...)

Seeing through the sixth patriarch's thoughts and thinking of his plan Ye Gui Feng eventually answers-

"I suppose cooperation isn't impossible. Tell the fifth elder that we're setting off a month from now."

"We?"

"Did you expect yourself to have the luxury of sitting and waiting? Or is that your definition of cooperating?"

"N-No... You said a month from now?"

"Do you have any objections?"

"None. I'll be sure to inform the fifth elder later today."

Inwardly the sixth patriarch felt a sense of contemptuous joy to find out that Ye Gui Feng had been so bold as to give him a month's worth of time to get rid of his restrictions.

"Well that concludes my visit."

As Ye Gui Feng begins to leave by taking five steps forward the sixth patriarch who is just about to exhale a breath of relief-

"Ah you're free to try and remove the restrictions that I've set upon you. But do keep in mind that if you end up doing that you run the risks of dying from something else."

Leaving these ominous words behind Ye Gui Feng vanishes from sight as the sixth patriarch looks on with a pale complexion.

"He should have just been bluffing..."

Refusing to take Ye Gui Feng's words as fact the sixth patriarch immediately made an announcement to the residents of his estate that he was going into seclusion right after sending someone to inform the fifth elder that they'll be making a trip to the underground lake.
