Judging by the expressions of tension and worry that are on the faces of the Xia family clansmen towards the news that Xia Hechuan had announced concerning Xia Huang Hai's longevity none of them seems to be putting on an act.

(No. This can't be all there is to it.)

Scrutinizing Xia Huang Hai's shadow that is being reflected on the solar body behind Xia Hechuan's throne and getting a grasp over the air that emanates from it Yi's instincts told him that something is extremely off about the timing of this evening party and the announcement that is just made.

Should his presence here truly be compromised then Yi wouldn't hesitate to make an escape under ordinary circumstances. But as the cornerstone of his plan with Ye Gui Feng is reliant on the Fourth Hell being in a vacant state it is absolutely necessary for them to get rid of both the Xia family and the Spirit Crane Sect.

"Clan chief can divine ancestor's issue of longevity truly be resolved if we managed to find the Fourth Hell's Flag?"

As Xia Hechuan's looks to the sun behind him a sigh that seems to come from ancient times goes off near the Xia family clansmen's ears.

[There is no guarantee on whether or not my issue can be resolved just by finding the Fourth Hell's Flag. However, considering how the Hell River Sect originates from one of the ten Original Monarchs there must be a legacy or treasure of some sort inside the central domain that will allow one's cultivation base to ascend to the realm of a Half-Monarch.]

[I've little faith in there being a treasure that can halt my cultivation base's decay. But I do have faith on the existence of a Half-Monarch pill or something of a similar nature, hence I'll fight for the chance to make one of our two prime elders a Half-Monarch through it. Prior to my eventual death I should be able to use a secret technique to grant a share of my lifelong insights and divine sense to every clansman.]

Hearing the confidence held in Xia Huang Hai's archaic voice much of the Xia family clansmen gulped down their spit with anticipation as their sense of duty towards their family is rekindled.

Equal treatment cannot be expected when Xia Huang Hai perishes and imparts his legacy to his clansmen but getting something is always better than getting nothing especially so when the legacy is something that originates from a Half-Monarch. Even for the most talented individual such a legacy is something that may take them well over 500 years to truly absorb.

Had it been anyone else they would have surely thought to laugh at Xia Huang Hai's claim of there being a Half-Monarch pill inside of the Four Great Hells' central domain.

But-

(...The possibilities of a pill like that does exist.)

Having a vague grasp over the Hell River Sect's assets Yi knew better than anyone else that a pill of this nature does indeed exist. But whether or not the passage of time has caused the pill to perish is unknown.

(If we can get that pill for ourselves then... We may not need to be so passive about our approach.)

Knowing this to just be wishful thinking Yi sighs.
