By the time Ye Gui Feng's copy had taken over the fourth elder's body two hours had passed.

"..."

Closing and opening his right hand repeatedly while snapping his neck Ye Gui Feng stands up slowly before ridding this body of the dust that has accumulated over the passage of a year's worth of time.

"Not bad."

Turning his attention towards the actual fourth elder who is trapped inside of a soundproof prison Ye Gui Feng walks over to him with a smug expression on his face.

Casting a soundproof barrier around the room Ye Gui Feng dismisses the prison around the fourth elder.

Despite having been released from his imprisonment the fourth elder didn't show any attempts at trying to escape or call for help as he has seemingly accepted his fate.

"What's wrong? You've gotten a lot quieter compared to before."

[Hmph. What's the point? Senior is clearly more powerful than me. The only reason you didn't kill me is because you didn't want to alert the sect.]

"I like people who are quick on the uptake."

[Just who are you and what do you plan to do with my identity?]

"You've no need to know who I am. As for what I'm going to do with your identity... That also doesn't concern you."

Reaching into his newly created storage space and fishing out a random slip of jade Ye Gui Feng is just about to seal the fourth elder away in it but-

[Wait, if you wish to destroy this sect I'll support you with all the information that I have!]

The person in question immediately said these words in haste realizing what Ye Gui Feng intends to do.

"And how can I trust you?"

[I, Lǐ Wèn (李问) swear to the heavens that if I lie to you even once may my cultivation base be crippled.]

Without any hesitation the fourth elder swore an oath to the heavens and looking at the former closely Ye Gui Feng can tell that he is actually a Paragon Immortal at the earth level.

For an Earth Paragon to place such an oath down so readily is rather unnatural and looking at the person's face closely-

(For some reason I feel like I've met him in the past...)

This thought crosses Ye Gui Feng's mind and as he continues to think about it he decides to ask a question for confirmation.

"Wen... Which wen?"

[Wen as in asking.]

"...Do you specialize in divination?"

An expression of surprise appears on Li Wen's face upon being asked this question out of the blue.

[It's you!]

Raising his right hand Li Wen points to Ye Gui Feng with clear excitement.

[My past divination has told me that at one point two powerful individuals will come to this land and one of them will cause the Spirit Crane Sect's downfall!]

Taking that to mean that this person does indeed specialize in divination Ye Gui Feng immediately connects the former to Wen Ming Zhen Ren who had been the one to help him recover his memories in the past when he was trapped in the Nie family.

(So that old man Wen Ming's actual name is Li Wen. Still...)

The fact that this person is here in the Spirit Crane Sect meant that they weren't originally a part of the Three Great Dao Gates.

From what Ye Gui Feng has gathered in this era during his free time the Three Great Dao Gates possesses a history that is just as old as the Yao family.

(If my memories are correct he should have been a member of the Dao Gate of the Yellow River. So why is he here in the Spirit Crane Sect?)

Knowing that he won't receive any answers from asking Li Wen about a future that has yet to happen Ye Gui Feng dismisses these thoughts.

"Tell me about the incident that you were involved in a year ago."

Seeing as how they are technically acquaintances Ye Gui Feng figures that he may as well hear Li Wen's story out first.

[*Sigh* what else can I say about it other than me having been left for dead?]

Raising a sigh Li Wen puts on a bitter expression as he thought back the incident that happened a year back.

[I was ordered to hold back the Xia family clansmen who ambushed us. At the time I was with the fifth and sixth elders along with the sixth patriarch.]

"So you were used as a sacrifice to let them escape?"

[That's just how sects work in the place I'm from. Members of the same sect are more than willing to toss their peers aside to live or to advance.]

"I eavesdropped on your housekeeper. Apparently the sixth patriarch wants to know when you'd exit your seclusion."

[Heh... When will I exit? If possible I don't want to ever exit. When I managed to come back in one piece none of those bastards had even been willing to spare some treasures to treat my wounds. Prior to my injures I was a Moon Paragon.]

"And now you're only an Earth Paragon. Does that mean that your injuries from a year ago had been so great that you had actually dropped out of the Paragon Immortal realm?"

[If it wasn't because of those injures I'd already be a Dao Paragon!]

"You're that confident about your innate talent?"

"This still doesn't explain why you'd help me destroy this sect. I can see reason in wanting to get payback on those three scumbags, but I don't see the logic in dragging the entire sect into it."
