Taking the nod as Ye Gui Feng's answer Hua Luo smiles as ripples of energy spreads from his current body.

Gradually the colossal body of the vessel begins to shrink until Hua Luo comes to stand before Ye Gui Feng as a normal sized human prior to redirecting his focus back towards Dao Mo.

Despite how calm he might appear on the outside Hua Luo wasn't confident enough to think that his words alone would be enough to make Dao Mo withdraw so easily.

[...]

Deciding to trust Hua Luo is something that Ye Gui Feng had done on instinct and having done so he only felt that this ordeal is finally starting to approach its end.

As for just how soon this ordeal will end it will have to depend on what Dao Mo intends to do next.

[...]

The longer that a person has held out on the execution of their schemes the more unyielding they would be when they do decide to execute them as they have most probably made counters for every possible mishap that might occur.

To have something go wrong near the final instance shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has lived for a good number of years and has experienced the unrelenting toils of things never going their way in life.

For a mortal it's not uncommon for them to abandon their schemes when they sense risks that involves the possibilities of death's blade being swept pass their necks but to a practitioner it is exponentially more difficult for them to do the same.

The reason has to do with the difference that separates mortals from practitioners.

From the viewpoints of powerful practitioners the lifespan of a mortal from birth to death is as quick as the blink of an eye with a durability that is akin to those of a withered tree branch that can snap with a light press.

Most practitioners who possess a cultivation base that is above the Nascent Soul realm would generally have multiply means to secure their own safety and in some cases a practitioner might have multiply lives to lose before a permanent death.

At the same time the ever glaring eyes of death that hangs over their heads is something that all practitioners will inevitably have to grow accustomed to otherwise they will never be capable of walking ahead of others as each critical step taken by them is usually followed by a calamity.

If it is already that difficult for an ordinary practitioner to relent in the face of failure just how difficult would it be for a Half-Monarch to do the same?

[Was it a mistake?]

Looking between Hua Luo and Ye Gui Feng the thought of having made a grave mistake in allowing things to get to where they are at this time appears in Dao Mo's mind.

Had Dao Mo knew that Hua Luo would appear as an obstacle to his plans he would surely have picked a different time to step through the gate.

However, feeling regretful for his hastiness is all but meaning now as his plan has already reached the point of no return.

There's little doubt in Dao Mo's mind that not even Ye Tian Xie had expected this to be the outcome when he had pulled the invisible strings that would allow him and the Moments to step into this world.

Being strategically bested left a sour taste in Dao Mo's mouth but he felt better at the thought of how it was Ye Tian Xie who had paid the most between the two of them.

Thinking of this he can say with certainty that Ye Tian Xie must have made an expression that is akin to having swallowed a million bugs when his clone was destroyed by Hua Luo.

[.........]

Abandoning things partway through wasn't something that Dao Mo is willing to do as he thought back to the amount of painstaking effort that he had spared to make his preparations for the sake walking further towards the end of the original Half-Monarch's road.

That being said merely knowing that his plan has a high likelihood of failure is not enough to make him relent because those who are truly powerful and are able to stand at the summit of the cultivation world are not the type to give up from a minor setback.

Having been a Half-Monarch for an untold number of centuries and having come to understand just what he is perfectly capable of doing meant that the arrogance that is to be expected from someone of his strength has already seethed into his bones.

Upon their ascension to the status of a Half-Monarch one is expected to have grown numb to the thought of death and failure because the amount of blood that they have shed to get to where they stand in the present instance should have baptized them to become unyielding in the face of the unreasonable.

The pride that comes with the attainment of their strength is something that all Half-Monarchs share and Dao Mo is no different.

[.........]

Weighing the options before him Dao Mo eventually opens his mouth and-

[Somehow... I'm not too surprised by things being this way.]

Speaks with his eyes giving off a gleam of cold radiance.

[When I had met you for the first time I had a feeling that there would be a day in which you would stand in my way.]

Recalling their first meeting along with the emotions in his heart at the time the radiance in Dao Mo's golden eyes become increasingly cold.

[Do you know why I didn't make a move against you all those years ago?]

[...]

Hearing these words Hua Luo constricts his eyes as Dao Mo slowly rises from his throne.

[It was because I also had a feeling that you would be the one to bring me the greatest fortune despite being a threat to my eventual plans.]

As Dao Mo raises his right hand the power of an Absolute Law in rotation begins to exude from his body.

[I suppose today shall be the day that I find out if I was right about you.]

Similar to the Absolute Law used by Hua Luo this one is also an incomplete product but compared to Hua Luo's it felt more refined.

[Shén niàn, zhòngshēng wèi mòshuǐ (神念, 众生为墨水 Meaning: Will of a Divine, Myriad Lifeforms as Ink)]

Upon the activation of Dao Mo's incomplete Absolute Law a soundwave spreads outwards and quickly engulfs the entirety of this realm.

"..."

As the owner of this world Xuan Nuo felt the effects of this Absolute Law with the most clarity and with the spread of this soundwave the barrier that was put up by Ye Gui Feng before had instantly collapsed.

Even so that doesn't mean that the wolves were able to enter as the soundwave ferociously brushes pass their bodies and forces them to remain still.

Things didn't end there as Xuan Nuo felt his control over the world being deprived from his hands.

As a result of this the murky darkness that surrounds everything seems to have gained a sense of conscience as it moves its body and slowly begins to devour everything in sight seemingly intent on making everything a part of itself.

Should one be able to look at this scenery from a distance they would find that it was almost as if the entirety of this world is but a giant canvas covered in black ink while the subtle movements of the murky darkness that looks to be devouring everything in sight is reminiscent to the stroke of a brush that is using the main color of the canvas to remove all hints of unwanted filth.

By now Xuan Nuo has already realized that this event has long evolved into something that he isn't qualified to partake in as it involves the clash of three Half-Monarchs who had schemed against each other for eons however-

"...Hua Luo, Dao Mo, Ye Tian Xie, and him."

Looking to the figure of those who are present and ending his gaze on Ye Gui Feng Xuan Nuo's eyes gave off an odd gleam. No doubt the events that occurred here must be reported back to the Asura Monarch.
