Dragging her feet forward Xiao Lian walks out of the living room of her home and leans her shoulder against the doorway.
"..."
The paleness of her complexion along with the hint of exhaustion that could be seen in her eyes was a clear sign that she shouldn't be moving about.
But being the one responsible for dragging her family and friends into this ordeal that involves putting everyone before the eyes of the Original Monarchs she wasn't going to allow herself to just sleep through this tribulation.
It might be natural for a child to rely on their parents for protection but the child shouldn't think to themselves that this protection should be everlastingly one-sided.
(*Sigh* the elderly always thinks to themselves that it is their duty and responsibility to shield the young, so they use their aging bodies to receive the harms that would otherwise land on the children. Their very existence is like an ancient tree that would shelter everything beneath their crown from storms and rains, but did it ever cross their minds that the children's desires are to grow up faster so that they may shield the tree in return?)
"..."
These are the words that had brought her out of her unconscious state and though she didn't know who it was that had said them she had to agree with their thoughts on the matter of a parent and child relationship.
Regret, self-blame, and a hint of helplessness, a large array of emotions could be picked up from the speaker's tone of voice and all these emotions could very well be reflected onto Xiao Lian should she decide to turn a blind eye from everything that is happening around her.
"...I don't want to keep hiding behind their backs."
If a tribulation must come Xiao Lian didn't want to watch everything while hiding behind the backs of her parents and friends.
She would much rather face it together with them even if there are the risks of death involved.
"..."
Raising her head and looking off into the distance she sees the figure of her father cutting down all the Dao shadows that came his way while preventing them from stepping pass him and approaching this courtyard.
"..."
Despite the concerns in her heart Xiao Lian's gaze didn't linger on her father's back for long.
If she wanted to help with ending this ordeal sooner she needed to direct her focus towards the root of everything.
Sweeping her eyes pass the figures of the Asura Monarch, Chong Tianzi, and Cang Xue Xiao Lian eventually places her attention onto the main confrontation of this battle.
The first individual, one of the only two Absolute Monarchs in existence she knew by instinct according to her ancestral memories.
The second person, though foreign with an unfamiliar face she senses a special sort of familial bond with them.
"..."
Looking to Hua Luo a string of thoughts appeared in Xiao Lian's head but she quickly dismisses them as she slowly raising her right hand and points to Ji Di Tian with her finger.
"Law of the Eternal."
*...!* as Xiao Lian's emerald green eyes emanate with a hue of golden glow a lotus motif magic circle appears beneath her feet and with it a swirling gale of energy related to Absolute Laws rises upwards to gather upon the tip of her index finger.
.........
Just as the thought of backing away from Hua Luo appears in Ji Di Tian's mind-
"Xūkōng Zhōng de Àoyì. (虚空中的奥义 Translation: Truth Within the Empty Void)"
A delicate voice speaks within his head and following it his body freezes in place.
[The Dao Lotus...!]
Realizing who it was that had enacted this Absolute Law upon him Ji Di Tian casts a cold glare towards the distant courtyard while trying to throw off the effects of this law that is preventing him from moving.
[...]
Noticing the oddity in Ji Di Tian's behavior and sensing the unique power of Absolute Laws in the air that surrounds the former Hua Luo increases the speed of his approach as he discards the thought of his original plans.
Though this period of paralysis created by Xiao Lian had only lasted for a split second with Ji Di Tian barely recovering his mobility at the final instance-
[...]
[...!]
It still gave Hua Luo the opening he needed to make his approach as he clutches onto Ji Di Tian's right shoulder with an iron grip!
[At this range even if you are an Absolute Monarch you still won't be able to escape unscathed. As for having thoughts of using spatial movement-]
Just as Ji Di Tian thought of using spatial movement to make his escape Hua Luo's eyes give off a venomous gleam as he anticipates the former's intention ahead of time.
*...!!!!!* simultaneously the powers of life, death, reincarnation, and Absolute Laws that are contained in Hua Luo's right hand seethes outwards and the release of these energy instantly sends the stability of the space around him and Ji Di Tian into a chaotic state!
[Tch...]
With the space around him and Hua Luo in such a state Ji Di Tian's enactment of spatial movement slows by a noticeable amount.
Having sealed off Ji Di Tian's final means to escape and knowing that the former won't have the time to enact any sort of defensive laws to shield himself Hua Luo ignites his cultivation base with his mind clear of any doubts!
As a shroud of pale white flames engulf his body a sense of spiritual weaknesses is felt by Hua Luo but this sensation is quickly offset by a feeling of surging power.
[Even if you go through with this it would still only be a partial victory.]
As these flames of immolation spreads to his body as well Ji Di Tian looks to Hua Luo with a hint of mockery.
Although Hua Luo's death will cause him to lose all his Dao shadows under the effects of the unknown law the Dao shadows are something that Ji Di Tian could recreate through the passage of time.
Even if he won't be able to recover the entirety of his collection Ji Di Tian still felt confident that he will be able to pull off his eventual plans should he redirect his focus from quantity towards quality.
[If I want a thorough victory I need to make it so that you will lose all your Dao shadows while making it difficult for you to recreate them. In that case you're right. Even if I were to sacrifice this arm it's still not enough to make you suffer a painful defeat but...]
Knowing fully that he won't be able to achieve his goal with just this Hua Luo smiles lightly causing a bad premonition to appear in Ji Di Tian's heart.
[Then...?]
*!!!!!!!!* without giving Ji Di Tian the time to voice his question Hua Luo gives up on trying to hold back the four different forces of power that is compressed into his right hand and the moment he relinquishes his control over them a light that rivals the brightness of a super nova goes off!
Looking at this scene from a distance away it felt as if one is looking at the growth of a solar body as the nova level radiance quickly swallows the figures of Hua Luo and Ji Di Tian in the blink of an eye while continuing to expand at an explosive rate!
*-!!!!!!!!!!!!!* accompanying its growth is a noise that threatens to shatter the eardrums of those who are witnessing this sight!
