"..."

Keeping his eyes on the crystal Yi continues to observe Na Jia's curse through Bai Shuang.

(The Xia family has a reason to enter the central domain so we needn't worry about them not complying later on. However, if we fail to trap both Half-Monarchs inside...)

At minimum Yi wants to trap at least one of the two Half-Monarchs inside the central domain.

(If we end up only being able to trap one of the Half-Monarchs inside then... I have confidence in being able to take on Xia Huang Hai or the Spirit Crane Sect's Half-Monarch on my own but if we leave the Exalted Celestials out...)

Dealing with two Exalted Celestials should still be manageable for Ye Gui Feng but if he was forced to fight five or more-

(In the Xia family there's the two prime elders and the clan chief while the Spirit Crane Sect supposedly has two more... There's no way to say for certain that there are only five Exalted Celestials and asking him to fight five or more would just be pushing it so ideally this curse needs to be able to kill off some of the Exalted Celestials. But...)

The two prime elders of the Xia family are both inside of the solar body with Xia Huang Hai so approaching them may as well be impossible.

As for the clan chief of the Xia family-

(Though that clan chief resides outside approaching him under the guise of a good reason proves to be difficult for it is opportunity based and my luck really isn't all that great...)

"Seventh elder."

Hearing the sound of a servant knocking on the door of his room Yi opens a rift that leads into his storage space and hands the crystal in his hand to Bai Yuechu.

"Enter."

The moment Bai Yuechu enters the rift Yi grants the servant permission to open the door.

"What is it?"

"The first prime elder is moving into the building in front of ours temporary and everyone is wondering if the seventh elder is interested in making a courtesy visit."

(Heh. That seventh elder really trained his servants well to come and report to him of any changes.)

Raising a smile Yi nods to the servant and answers-

"Yes. Prepare a decent selection of gifts to take with me."

"Understood."

As the servant closes the door and leaves Yi pours himself a cup of wine and downs it.

(This first prime elder is rather interesting. Here I was just thinking about how I should go and approach these Exalted Celestials and one of them decides to deliver themselves up to my front doorsteps. But...)

Placing the cup down Yi is quick to realize that this could potentially be a trap.

(That first prime elder's status is greater than mine. If I choose not to do a courtesy visit the other side will inevitably suspect something. Once that happens they'll probably end up being the ones knocking my door instead which will only end up putting me in an awkward position... Taking the initiate is still better than just waiting I suppose. *Sigh* households, sects, empires... Politics in any form truly is just annoying.)

Recalling the events that happened during his earlier years Yi sighs as he pours himself another cup and drains the liquor slowly.

"Hopefully you're not being made to lead again when we meet in this life..."

Immersing himself in old memories a sense of anticipation appears in Yi's heart. If possible he wishes to drop everything that he is doing now to go and find the person that he had promised to spend his life with.

"Ting'er give me just a bit more time."

Author: 584 words. Shorter than usual but I felt like it was best to cut this chapter off here due to the mood.

Recently I watched the 2019 version of Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre along with the 2017 version of the Legend of the Condor Heroes. Last night I finished the 50th episode of the Untamed.

Didn't really like Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre much. My issue with it is the main character being practically a figure head with no real authority. Condor Heroes was okish. Was definitely better than the former.

In the end I'm still thinking these stories that were written well over 60 years ago should just be put to rest. Continuous remakes of these stories with different actors doesn't really add anything new to it since the story is already done and over and they can't exactly go and change much of the plot.

The Untamed based off the Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, people praise this drama quite a bit but looking at its overall plot along with the main villain's motivations for doing what they did my response is also just the same as Wei Wuxian: "Hehehe I didn't expect... Nothing. I just didn't expect you all got so many people killed just for... Just for this hahaha."

That was basically the highlight of episode 48 for me when the plot started to criticize itself.

In any case I'm not saying the drama is bad but just when you hear people talking about how great something is you tend to have high expectations due to it.
