Evading the incoming spears one by one Bai Huan rapidly distances himself from the courtyard and upon dodging the final spear-

*...!!!* a pillar of blood colored radiance erupts from within the courtyard and following its appearance-

*Kakaka!* flowers of ice blossoms above an ever expanding field of frost.

Although the air has indeed dropped in temperature it isn't the main culprit behind the formation of these ice flowers.

As the pungent scent of blood is detected by the nose it becomes apparent to Bai Huan that both the flowers and the frost field that accompanies them are just a part of an individual's domain when they've released their slaughtering intent.

"..."

Straightening his back Bai Huan looks to the blood colored pillar with a mix of complex emotions as frost covers the ground beneath his feet with icy flowers blooming about in his surroundings.

The source of this blood pillar should be what he is looking for but now that he is here and can evidently feel the air that accompanies this pillar he suddenly didn't know what he should do.

"..."

As much as Bai Huan would like to be granted some time for him to sort through his thoughts the other party wasn't exactly that understanding seeing as how he is an intruder to their home.

"...Is this form truly worth it?"

Seeing the current state of the figure that has abruptly appeared in front of him a discomforting feeling pushes Bai Huan to ask them this question.

The figure before Bai Huan is none other than Xiao Ju Hong but beneath the skin of her left cheek is a hideous black vein that extends to her left hand.

Perhaps there isn't a single person who would say that she was beautiful with the dark vein on her face.

If anything her current appearance can only be described as eerie for the vein's shape is similar to that of a rotting scar.

Adding onto the pale nature of her skin Xiao Ju Hong looked more like a moving corpse than a living person.

"...?"

Being asked this question a hint of confusion can be seen in Xiao Ju Hong's red eyes that has seemingly lost a bit of its former vibrance, but she dismisses her puzzlement quickly as she clenches her left hand into a fist.

It didn't matter what this person had to say.

To Xiao Ju Hong if they are a Yaksha they couldn't be anything but an enemy because their creator had involved her daughter in their schemes.

"..."

For an instance the flow of time had seemingly become slower than it should be as Bai Huan looks to Xiao Ju Hong in a way that is similar to an adult admonishing a misbehaving child.

"...?"

Although her strength has increased Xiao Ju Hong didn't think it would be enough for her to defeat the Yaksha before her.

However, for reasons unknown to her the Yaksha didn't show any signs of dodging or blocking and by the time she realized this her strike had already landed on Bai Huan's chest.

"..."

Though Xiao Ju Hong's attack had evidently broken through his physical defense that takes on the form of a diamond like layer of skin Bai Huan didn't show any hints of pain as he continues to look to the former in an admonishing manner.

"...?"

Seeing a hint of pity reflected in the golden eyes of the Yaksha Xiao Ju Hong backs away from him with evident confusion for the pity reflected in the former's eyes is directed at none other than herself.

"...Who are you?"

Upon asking this question Xiao Ju Hong immediately felt that it was a meaningless act.

The person before her is a Yaksha, a creation of the Yaksha Monarch what was the point in asking them about their identity?

"Who am I? Indeed, just who exactly am I?"

Casting his gaze to the skies Bai Huan sighs with a hint of frustration. He didn't know why he felt pity towards the girl who had just struck him and upon being asked about his identity he can only feel limitless uncertainty.

"Bai Huan," this should be his name but is it truly his genuine name? Or is it just a combination of two words that had coincidentally sounded like a name?

As a Yaksha he should just be a creation of the Yaksha Monarch and nothing more, yet-

"Why was I...?"

Somewhere within his heart Bai Huan felt like there was more to all this than what it might seem on the surface.

"Why was I brought back here?"

"...?"

Hearing the question that Bai Huan had muttered the confusion in Xiao Ju Hong's eyes becomes more apparent but before she can say anything-

"..."

Shaking his head Bai Huan turns around and vanishes from sight.

"..."

For a brief instance silence looms in the air as Xiao Ju Hong pieces her thoughts together.

(...I didn't detect any hostility in that Yaksha. But if that's the case why did he come here?)

Eventually-

"...Luo Qin, just what exactly is a Yaksha?"
