[We'll still have some time together after all this...]

Sensing the gloominess in Xiao Ju Hong's mood Ye Gui Feng tries to up on a reassuring smile as he tells her that there was still some time before the execution of his plan.

Hearing these words a bit of light appears in Xiao Ju Hong's eyes but-

"The look on your face tells me that you have more to say."

Rather quickly she picks up on the difficulties that were hinted by Ye Gui Feng's expression.

[That I cannot deny.]

"Then..."

[Things somehow worked out in a way that is unexpectedly beneficial to us.]

"Hm?"

[Remember the details of my plan?]

If the root of Xiao Lian's shortened lifespan lies with her identity as a Dao Lotus then the only solution they have would be for her to discard her current form and identity, so the plan Ye Gui Feng had formulated while creating the scroll painting is to have Xiao Lian undergo reincarnation when she is nearing the end of her current lifespan.

Unfortunately with how flawed the system of reincarnation is in the Starry Seas it made the process more complicated but since he had promised the mother butterfly that he would send Die Fei off into the cycles of reincarnation he already had a solid basis to improve upon.

However even if this plan does work there was no telling where Xiao Lian might end up upon rebirth and what she may end up becoming.

As a father it would be irresponsible of him to send his daughter off to an unknown place without a form of protection hence Ye Gui Feng had acted according to what Xiao Ju Hong had suggested to him about adding magic treasures and the likes into the painting.

As Xiao Lian's life bound treasure the painting's purpose will be to shield her from all possible harms that may come her way upon rebirth while also being a means for Ye Gui Feng to locate her in the future.

Having made all the necessary preparations for this plan and wagering on its success Ye Gui Feng took it upon himself to stall the Asura Monarch while Xiao Ju Hong and Die Fei helped with fusing the scroll painting to Xiao Lian as a life bound treasure.

Had things gone according to the original plan then Xiao Lian should have been sent off to the cycles of reincarnation upon the completion of her fusion with the scroll painting.

But things have taken a series of unexpected turns amidst the process and led up to the current situation.

Though that wasn't to say these unexpected turns were bad.

In fact it could very well be the opposite.

"I do but how does... This situation benefit us?"

No matter how Xiao Ju Hong looked at the current situation be it the sun and moon that are being forced into a collision or the ongoing lightning storm none it seemed like it would be able to benefit them in any way.

[I wish to make some changes to the final bit of details in my plan.]

At first Ye Gui Feng wasn't entirely certain of his chances at making his plan succeed but having come into contact with the purest essences related to the powers of life, death, and reincarnation he had a clearer vision in mind for opening the path that leads to spiritual transmigration.

[It's difficult to really explain everything without going over every bit of detail thus far...]

As he is saying these words Ye Gui Feng gradually turns his gaze at Yi and Hua Luo with Xiao Ju Hong turning her head around to look behind her.

"..."

The moment her gaze landed upon Yi an unknown piece of memory flashes in Xiao Ju Hong's mind causing her gaze to linger.

[...]

Looking back at Xiao Ju Hong a piece of memory also appears in Yi's mind but-

(She seems somewhat familiar but I don't think I've ever met her before unless...)

Slowly realizing something Yi's eyes gradually widen. It wasn't appropriate to say that he had any involvements in the makings of this specific memory. At the time he was more like a bystander who is looking on from a distance.

[...]

Having realized when this memory had occurred Yi looks over to Hua Luo and simultaneously Xiao Ju Hong's lingering gaze also moves over to the other person.

"..."

[...]

Upon meeting their eyes with one another Xiao Ju Hong felt the surfacing memory becoming clearer as she gradually connects the clues together.

[...]

Putting on a smile of confirmation towards Xiao Ju Hong's confusion Hua Luo looks back on this memory and felt it to be a rather mystical experience.

"People often use the term coincidence to describe matters that just so happens to fit together but it's really difficult to describe our circumstances as that."

Turning her head around and looking back at Ye Gui Feng Xiao Ju Hong's red eyes gave off an odd shine of understanding as she smiles in a strange manner.

[Hm?]

"You don't need to explain anything. I think I understand what happened."

Despite wanting to press for more details Ye Gui Feng quickly realized that now wasn't the time for it as the demonic self approaches.

"What do you intend to do?"

Drawing in a breath of air Ye Gui Feng answers with absolute certainty.

[Give Ji Di Tian a wound that he will never forget.]

[Give Ji Di Tian a wound that he will never forget.]

Simultaneously the demonic self gives the same answer.
