Choosing to passively defend themselves against Ji Di Tian's onslaught and wait for outside help could very well be the ideal thing to do under these circumstances.

However, whether it was right or wrong is entirely up for debate.

What worth does the head of a household have when they are incapable of defending their family with their own strength?

Some might see Ye Gui Feng taking his own course of action be a show of arrogance or as him being too prideful for their own good.

In fact one might even consider him selfish for taking matters into his own hands without the approval of Hua Luo and Yi who must also bear the consequences of his failure.

But is that truly all there is to it?

Before categorizing this as a show of arrogance and pride the first thing one should think of should be the responsibilities of an individual to their family.

Half a person's worth is reliant on whether that person has the strength to protect and to provide for their family.

It is the responsibility of the parents to nurture and to protect their young, but a person's familial role shouldn't matter.

As a part of a household every person is collectively responsible for shielding those they consider a part of their world.

(So long as it means protecting them I'm willing to place my fate in the hand of another, but I will never place the fate of my wife and daughter in someone else's hand because that would be an act of betraying their trust.)

For the sake of Xiao Ju Hong and Xiao Lian Ye Gui Feng can unconditionally sacrifice himself to ensure their safety for he has a responsibility to them as a husband to his wife and as a father to his daughter.

[You-]

[Taking your own course of action are you?]

Towards Yi and Hua Luo who shows a hint of disproval towards his actions Ye Gui Feng can only say-

[My home stands behind me and my family stands within it.]

There is nothing profound about these words, but they seem to carry an unimaginable amount of weight when they are spoken by Ye Gui Feng under the current circumstances.

And it is for this reason alone that Ye Gui Feng is very much against Hua Luo and Yi's way of leaving everything to an outsider that may or may not appear.

*...!!!* as the azure radiance that comes from the third wall continues to intensify the dark flames looked as if they were being held at bay for a brief instance but-

*Wraaaaaaaaaaaawr!!!!!!* rather quickly this is proven to be false as the flames release a beast like cry of fury!

*...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...! ...!* as if an entire pack of beasts have opened their eyes all at once red streaks appear throughout the sea of flames that looks to be undergoing a transformation.

In the process of this transformation the remnants of the two celestial bodies that were trapped inside of the dark infernos are cast outwards as large pieces of burning debris smashes onto the second wall!

(Not the flame of a monarch for nothing...)

Despite not having any means to deal with these flames in his current state that didn't stop the Asura Monarch from making speculations and having caught sight of the azure radiance that comes from Hua Luo and the others' direction-

(I think an opportunity might just be at hand.)

Observing the black flame's gradual transformation the Asura Monarch came to realize the reason behind Ji Di Tian having to use an Absolute Law to bring this flame into being.

Thinking of this matter in a logical sense Ji Di Tian's main means of killing them should be the black flames alone.

There shouldn't have been a need for him to waste so much energy in using an Absolute Law to summon this inferno.

But without enacting that Absolute Law-

(Though these flames hold infinite potential they aren't without weaknesses. Summoning them without a catalyst like that Absolute Law means they will take forever to warm up.)

This also meant that the temperature demonstrated by the black flames at this time is nowhere near their intended limit.

(If they can make a brief opening for me to go on the offensive then...)

*Boom! Boom! Boom!* as the thought of making a comeback goes through the Asura Monarch's head the unrelenting assault that takes on the form countless meteors manages to smash a clean hole through the second wall's body!

Without waiting for its transformation to finish a portion of the dark infernos lunges forth and pierces pass the second wall to stab at the third!

[Nine folds!]

In the same instance Ye Gui Feng controls the third wall and within the time it takes for sparks to fly the wall rapidly folds itself nine times to take on a shape that is reminiscent of a bare blade!

*...!!!!!* following this a monstrous amount of azure colored spirit energy erupts from the folded blade and almost as if the blade has been gripped by an invisible hand it swings itself towards the incoming pillar of black flames!

[...]

[...]

Time slows and under the attentive eyes of Yi and Hua Luo the folded blade approaches the inferno pillar with its every movement captured in motionless frames until its edge manages to press itself onto the pillar's side in an image that is reminiscent of an executioner's blade sinking its fangs into the neck of a condemned criminal!

*!!!* in the time it takes for a person to blink their eyes the blade separates the pillar of flames from its main body in a single slash!

But things didn't end there as the spirit energy that overflows from the blade leaves a layer of glowing residue over the wounds.

Similar to an infectious virus the residue of azure spirit energy rapidly expands in size as it begins to dye the sea of black flames in its colors!

Reminiscent to a condensed body of snow being picked away at the infected portions of the black flames begin to collapse as a clear sign of it undergoing a process of breakdown!
