Snapping out of his helplessness quickly Chong Tianzi mutters these words beneath his breath as a figure shrouded in a layer of fog appears behind his back.

The voice of this figure is rather muffled making it difficult to distinguish their gender.

Sensing the presence of this figure whose body is giving off an unfamiliar air that doesn't belong to this domain Ji Di Tian immediately knew that they were the foreign monarch Chong Tianzi had made a deal with.

(They don't seem to possess a physical body. Did they perhaps lost it in a battle of some kind and was forced to flee to our domain by chance?)

It would be impossible to guess the entirety of this individual's background without questioning them face to face but with only this much of a hint Ji Di Tian is able to make numerous speculations on why they were in this domain.

As Chong Tianzi and the shrouded figure rotates their cultivation base together a harmonic balance is formed between the power of their Absolute Laws and to Ji Di Tian's surprise-

As he has never seen such an interaction between two monarchs in the past Ji Di Tian wasn't perfectly certain about what it is that he is witnessing but his instincts told him that his thoughts weren't very far from the truth.

(If what I'm think of is the truth then... The power of their Absolute Laws are actually capable of fusing together. No wonder he decided to work with this person.)

The details of what is required to make this work isn't clear to Ji Di Tian but a mutual trust between the two parties involved with this fusion will most likely be the first necessity.

Almost as soon as Ji Di Tian had figured out the intentions of the two their fusion was completed.

And without wasting a single second Chong Tianzi raises his right hand and aims for the closing gap that separates the two celestial bodies.

*...!!!* upon Chong Tianzi slashing his right hand down in a fluid chop a dimensional rift appears between the gap that separates the celestial bodies.

As this rift begins to expand a powerful force of energy erupts outwards and forces the celestial bodies that are approaching the other to halt in their tracks.

Seeing as how the two celestial bodies have ceased their movements for the time being the Asura Monarch thought about his next course of action.

The amount of time he spent on making his decision was less than a second as he turns his eyes to Ji Di Tian and moves in their direction.

Although Ji Di Tian is powerful the reversal flow of time that he had demonstrated to launch this second wave wasn't a genuine feat of time control as not a single bit of energy related to the temporal attributes could have been felt from his person at the time.

In truth that was just one of the many ways he can manipulate his Absolute Laws.

Instead of saying that he had truly performed time reversal it would be accurate to say that he had commanded his Absolute Law that takes on the form of this universe to rewind its own history; a feat doesn't require him to actually possess the power to govern the flow of time.

This also meant that long as this Absolute Law continues to remain active Ji Di Tian can hope to continuously rewind its history at his own leisure.

Seeing the Asura Monarch approaching him Ji Di Tian narrows his eyes but before he can figure out the former's intentions-

[Do you still remember my challenge to you? Well...]

A dense sphere of electric energy appears in front of the Asura Monarch's chest.

If one focused their eyes upon the energy sphere they can see a gemstone that takes on the form of a lightning bolt.

The sight of this gemstone causes Ji Di Tian to feel a bad premonition for it is the crystalized form of the Asura Monarch's abilities to govern lightning.

In other words this gem is one of the corner stones that supported the Asura Monarch existence in this world as a rightful monarch.

[I forfeit so you can have this.]

Should he lose this gemstone he would also be losing his control over lightning.

Without giving Ji Di Tian any time to react to this development the Asura Monarch pushes the gemstone towards the former before choosing to back away.

As the sound of Ji Di Tian's flute comes to an abrupt halt his body instinctively absorbs the gemstone that was pushed his way and following this-

*!!!!!* a colorful sea of concentrated lightning energy appears over his head.

Acquiring the Asura Monarch's abilities to control all forms of lightning is indeed a benefit to Ji Di Tian.

However, this is a foundation level Absolute Law, something that is meant to support the existence of a monarch.

Even if it was Ji Di Tian he would also need to expend a great deal of time to allow his body to attune itself with this Absolute Law.

But under the current circumstances the process of assimilation has practically been forced upon him by the Asura Monarch.

Though it was faint Ji Di Tian still manages to recall how the Asura Monarch's eyes had given off a strange glow when he stated that he would lay claims to the former's abilities to control lightning. At the time he didn't think much of that but now-

Following the Asura Monarch's confirmation the gemstone within Ji Di Tian's body releases a glow of blinding radiance.

*Crackle! Crackle! Crackle! Crackle! Crackle! Crackle! Crackle!* seemingly stimulated by the gemstone's shine the colorful sea of lightning crackles in a manner that is reminiscent of a growling beast that's waiting to feast upon its prey.

[Heh...]

*CRACKLE! Crackle! CRACKLE! Crackle! CRACKLE! Crackle! CRACKLE! Crackle!* as the sound of rumbling lightning intensifies Ji Di Tian laughs in an eerie manner.

[Sacrificing one of your foundations to have a shot at me... The fact that you managed to be this decisive is praiseworthy. Truly quite an eye opener this development is...]

Seeing as how the former wasn't showing even a hint of panic causes the Asura Monarch to frown as a feeling of discomfort appears in his chest.

It goes without saying that the calmer Ji Di Tian is reacting to this situation the more worried the Asura Monarch is despite having logic on his side.

(Is he still capable of controlling his Absolute Law even when being preoccupied with the assimilation process?)
