[...Duo Tian...]
To the Half-Monarch this is a name that he couldn't treat careless as it belongs to an existence that is meant to be feared.
[...Li Jiu Tian's direct descendent and successor.]
Raising a sigh Dao Mo thought about the relationship between Li Jiu Tian and Duo Tian.
Calling them father and child is appropriate but there was far more complexity to be discovered beneath the surface of their relationship.
In the first place Duo Tian cannot be considered the legitimate offspring of an Original Monarch. This much is a fact but the potential strength possessed by him couldn't be anything less or-
[...]
That was the claim Li Jiu Tian had made.
Common sense dictates that a person should take everything that they hear with skepticism but when the supposed words had come from someone of Li Jiu Tian's strength and identity they will always hold a certain level of creditability regardless of whether they were true or not.
This inevitably caused all who knew about Duo Tian's existence to consider him as the closest living organism to resemble a monarch of old despite having been born into the world through what the monarchs would consider "unnatural means."
It goes without saying that the simplistic words of Li Jiu Tian alone are impossible to use as a basis to predict Duo Tian's strength.
But what Dao Mo and those of his cultivation level are wary of isn't their actual strength; they are simply fearful of Li Jiu Tian's inheritance that was passed down to Duo Tian.
Since time immemorial none of the Original Monarchs have passed down an inheritance as there was never a need for them to do so nor was there ever a person that they would deem to be worthy of it.
Without an example to formulate theories around its difficult to estimate the strength of Li Jiu Tian's inheritance however what are the possible chances of that inheritance being weak when the giver of it is none other than an Original Monarch?
In the eyes of the common masses it might look as if all the Original Monarchs are equal in power but that isn't true.
The two monarchs that hold the most power amongst their circle are the Monarch of the Absolute Heavens and the Monarch of the Absolute End.
One governs the concept of eventual beginnings while the other governs the concept of inevitable ends.
Due to the abstract concept that these two have reign over they are considered the strongest of their circle with the Asura Monarch being the only one that comes close to rivaling them.
Possessing an inheritance that originates from one of the most powerful monarch, simply the thought of there being a high likelihood of Duo Tian holding that level of strength is more than enough to make Dao Mo hesitant on enacting his plans in their eventual presence.
That being the case-
[.........]
To withdraw or to continue.
Many eons back Dao Mo had realized that amongst the Moments there would be a clone of Ye Tian Xie hiding amongst them but he could never figure out just which of them it was until this day.
Considering how that clone didn't pose too great of a threat to him Dao Mo never put too much effort into finding them and had left them to their own devices.
And although that was nothing more than a clone of Ye Tian Xie it was never the less a body that held a portion of his power as a Half-Monarch.
For such a powerful clone to be destroyed with such ease by Hua Luo gave Dao Mo more reason to weigh the option of withdrawing.
He wasn't going to question how or when Hua Luo had come to hold a deal with Duo Tian.
All that matters were whether the words of Hua Luo are genuine or not and with his many years of experience in living and dealing with others Dao Mo can easily see through lies with effortless ease.
[...]
[...]
Confusion is rather evident in the eyes of the Moments.
None of them really knew the significance of this name that had caused Dao Mo to regard the situation with extreme focus.
[.........]
Disregarding the matters that involve Duo Tian for a moment Dao Mo looks to Hua Luo with numerous thoughts going through his mind.
On the outside it might seem like the mist of death Qi is oozing out of the vessel but in actuality it originates from Hua Luo's soul.
Even before Dao Mo had met Hua Luo for the first time the latter had already lost their flesh and blood body.
It could be considered a miracle for Hua Luo to even be here in this present instance after all the years that have passed since their initial encounter.
But just how long could Hua Luo maintain his existence for? The amount of time that he possesses couldn't possibly amounted to even a day.
But it was surely more than enough time to deal with Dao Mo should the situation force his hand.
Deciding to show himself at this time meant the occurrence of a major event and this event is most likely related to Duo Tian's advent into the world.
[I do not possess knowledge on the events that are happening outside of this realm but I can readily pick up the presence of a monarch. Forcing a weakened monarch to retreat isn't difficult by paying the appropriate price.]
How great this price is something that only Hua Luo would know the details of but it doesn't take a genius to guess.
[...]
Should he plan to make any sort of movement here Hua Luo wouldn't mind paying the appropriate price to severely wound him and force him into secluded cultivation for an indefinite amount of time.
The hidden meaning behind these words is something that Dao Mo had understood in an instant and it only serves to have him treat the situation with greater caution.
[My-, no, our pact with Duo Tian is to aid him in emerging from the boundaries. It shouldn't be a difficult task to convince him to lend us a helping hand in dealing with matters that involve a monarch.]
The resources to wound a monarch can only be deployed once, hence Duo Tian is considered Hua Luo's second hand.
[.........]
Seemingly everything is set up to be of Hua Luo's advantage causing Dao Mo's expression to darken slightly.
[You shall have all the answers at the end of this.]
These words were not directed towards Dao Mo, instead they were directed at Ye Gui Feng.
[...]
Hearing these words Ye Gui Feng thought for a moment before taking a step forward and appearing in front of Hua Luo.
[...]
[...]
Meeting Hua Luo's eyes that contain a clear hint of exhaustion Ye Gui Feng knew that they didn't have very long to live.
But even if this person is currently standing upon death's doorsteps that didn't make them any weaker when it comes to scheming however-
[*Sigh*]
Raising a sigh Ye Gui Feng replies to Hua Luo's words with a light nod.
The amount of questions that Ye Gui Feng has on his mind is seemingly endless and he can tell that if he continues to let them pile up they would eventually become a hindrance to his cultivation in the future so it was best to gain some answers to clear them.
