"Despite being but a ghost do you intend to make good of your words to that monarch?"

Towards the question that had been asked of them a paper-thin smile that gives off a hint of evil intent appears on the person who possesses Ye Gui Feng's former face.

[Aaah this should be one of the many scenes in which it is played by the same actors and yet...]

Raising a sigh the person is seemingly overcome by a powerful sense of emotions as they sweep their eyes across the world that lies beyond their doors.

[There's something about all this that feels strangely refreshing. I... No...]

Shaking their head the person corrects himself.

[Day after day and second after second, throughout this great passage of time we truly do wonder just how many more times must we play this accursed "game" until we are finally free of its irritating rules. Normally everything would begin anew pass this point for we are constantly trapped within a maelstrom of branching possibilities that stems from the decisions that we make beyond this act. But this time... Yes, there is indeed is something about all this that feels different. A factor that hasn't appeared up until now has shattered the linear rail and has allowed us to diverge from our inevitable course of eternal recurrence.]

Neither Ye Gui Feng nor Xuan Nuo knew what it is that the person had meant by these words but with the knowledge that he has on hand Xuan Nuo can somehow guess the underlying significance of their speech.

[Brothers and sisters, what if I told you that your entire life had been decided by fate? From the very beginning glory was already gifted to the victors and the defeated were already set to serve as their stepping stones to wealth regardless of how much effort they put into changing that outcome? We live our lives as it had been determined in advance, always reaching the same conclusion for fate has no regards to the amount of tears, sweat, and blood that we have shed throughout the course of living, forever incapable of escaping from the destines that were forced upon us no matter what. Does it shock you to think that the universe was woven from such a cruel piece of fabric? I believe all of us here know what it is that I am talking about? After all have we not experienced it for ourselves in the past?]

It wasn't clear if this person had been raising these questions to Ye Gui Feng or to Xuan Nuo but as it turns out-

[...]

[...]

[...]

Neither of the two had been the case.

Although the man who stands beyond the double doors of the stone gate possesses a cultivation base that is above the Exalted Celestial's realm of cultivation Xuan Nuo didn't feel too threatened by them for they didn't give off the terrifying air of a Half-Monarch.

If Xuan Nuo must give a description of the thoughts that crossed his mind when looking upon that figure his answer would be "nothing more than a droplet of water."

But from where did this droplet of water come from?

Where was its source?

That source is what made Xuan Nuo feel threatened.

"Uh?"

In the next instance numerous figures of different faces and age walked forth to stand by the first figure.

A youth who looks no more than 16 years of age.

A woman who possesses an elegant sense of beauty that would bring tranquility with every step.

An elderly man with white hair dressed in a dark set of robes.

A young man dressed in the robes of an emperor with the constitution of a common mortal.

Although each of these individuals may be dressed differently from one another and may even be of different genders there is something spiritually similar about them all.

This similarity doesn't have anything to do with their blood, it is something that is directly linked to their roots of origin.

"..."

But despite each of these individuals possessing an archaic air that is unique to themselves none of them are really people that Xuan Nuo would feel threatened by meaning they are still but just a single droplet of water that had originated from the unseen ocean.

[As you all must surely know, this world is one where beings of the same origins are unable to coexist in the same line. Hence the existence of worlds that run parallel to one another. You, you, and you, aaah such a gathering of both familiar and yet foreign faces that we have here. Here and now I stand despite having reached the very ends of my life many, many eons ago. All of us here are but ghosts that have long lost our rights to walk upon this earth and yet... Here we are in the present instance standing and breathing almost as if it was the most natural thing for us to do as prisoners of fate. No... Calling each other prisoners now is probably inappropriate after all... Are we not free of the shackles that bind us to our predetermined destinies? All of us existing upon the same planes can only be seen as that rule that I had mentioned before having crumbled. But it would seem like the destruction of this law is something that applies to only us of the same roots alone. Either way, things being as they are, beings of the same origin who could never meet one another have all gathered in one place... Do you all not find this to be extremely fascinating? Ah but...]

The plain faced figure gives off an air that can only be described as grand before raising his voice and asking those around him a single question.

[The fascination of this situation aside... Is this not what we have wished to see after all this time?]

The smile on the face of that figure only becomes crueler as their eyes gave off a harsh gleam.

[...!]

Almost as if his brain had just caught up to the situation Ye Gui Feng directs his eye towards the sword that is held in his right hand.

"A factor that hasn't appeared up until now has shattered the linear rail and has allowed us to diverge from our inevitable course of eternal recurrence," this weapon is an incarnation of his fate and having obtain of what's considered his fate from the hands of Yi Zhu Xian-

[All this... Just when did all this even begin?]

The thoughts of this entire ordeal being nothing more than a coincidence caused by the unreasonableness of the world is seemingly shattered in that instance.

All of a sudden this entire ordeal felt as if it had been the grand schemes of someone who is especially cunning and the likelihood of this speculation causes a bead of cold sweat to roll down the side of Ye Gui Feng's head.

"..."

As these thoughts went through Ye Gui Feng's head the two questions that Xuan Nuo has is answered by a single word.

[Indeed.]

It was but a single word and yet the moment this voice that's overflowing with an ancientness that surpasses all else is pushed into the ears of Ye Gui Feng and Xuan Nuo the two of them trembled visibly as they widened their eyes and looked pass the sea of individuals and locked their gaze onto the golden eyes of a solemn entity that looks to have transcended the realms of human understandings.

This person gave off a terrifying force of pressure that is akin to a whirlwind that would threaten to rip apart all that it comes across.

A beast, a monster, a cruel tyrant.

There are numerous ways to describe this person but none of them would come close to painting a perfect image into the brain of those who can only listen to a description of their bearing.

"Half-Monarch..."

It was without a hint of hesitation on his part that Xuan Nuo mutters the two words that are meant to be attached to individuals of such strength.
