[What sect are you from?]
Holding the bald-headed practitioner by their neck Ye Gui Feng loosens his grip slightly giving the former enough space to breath and answer his question.
"I-I'm part of the Spirit Crane Sect."
[And what is your sect doing here?]
"There's some sort of legacy here in this land so our sect master probably wants to acquire that."
[Probably?]
If it were him in charge of whatever operation this Spirit Crane Sect had planned Ye Gui Feng would surely not choose to say much to those who are only meant to handle grunt work so he isn't surprised by the bald-headed practitioner's lack of knowledge.
[And what of this Xia family?]
"Does this mean senior isn't a part of the Xia-?"
[I'm the one asking questions. Now answer me.]
Tightening his grip to prevent the bald-headed practitioner from asking unnecessary questions Ye Gui Feng forcefully redirects them back on topic.
"Th-They're probably after the same thing as us and I heard their clan head has some sort of old feud with our sect master."
[Oh? So if you just so happen to accidentally die here then the blame will automatically be shifted to the Xia family's clansmen?]
"Th-That..."
Detecting the killing intent in Ye Gui Feng's eyes the bald-headed practitioner immediately wanted to take back the words that he had just said.
[What cultivation base does your sect master have?]
"I-I don't know..."
[What Hell is occupied by the Xia family?]
"The Second one."
[Aside from your sect and the Xia family is there any other faction here?]
"Not that I'm aware of."
[I see. Since you seem honest in your answers, I assume you already know that your life is as good as forfeited?]
"Sen-"
Knowing that asking anymore questions won't do him any good Ye Gui Feng proceeds to knock the bald-headed practitioner out before throwing him onto the ground.
Taking out the jade slip that he had received from Yi-
[I only found out that the Fourth Hell is occupied by a group called the Spirit Crane Sect whereas the Second Hell is occupied by the Xia family. Apparently the leaders of these factions have an old feud with one another. It's unclear if there are any other factions here.]
Ye Gui Feng sends this message out to the former.
[This situation is a lot more complicated than what I was expecting...]
Momentarily a reply is sent back by Yi.
[*Sigh*]
Looking at the two bodies littering on the ground Yi raises a sigh.
Similar to Ye Gui Feng Yi had also come across a patrol group that belongs to the Xia family and thinking of the same risks involved with killing them he had also chosen to knock them out.
[We have very little information to work with. But for the time being let's just assume that there are at least two Half-Monarchs here.]
Transmitting this message back Yi immediately thought about the worst-case scenario in which they may be forced to fight the two Half-Monarchs.
[The best way to acquire information would be to just sneak into the enemies' camp. However, using the faces of those who I had captured won't be suitable as they'll expect all three of them to return.]
[Same situation as well. I guess I'll just have to get closer to the Xia family's camp and replace someone of mild status. Hopefully there's someone aloof amongst them so I won't need to put too much effort into acting.]
Having decided that sneaking into the enemy camp will be the best way to acquire information Yi looked towards the direction of the Second Hell that is currently occupied by the Xia family.
[If I recall doesn't time flow differently in Hell compared to the outside world?]
[It does. However, with the outside world's laws thrown into disarray that rule no longer applies. There's no need to worry about your family not seeing you for ten years if we do end up staying here for ten days.]
A sigh of relief spews out of Ye Gui Feng's mouth before he thought about the existence of a certain item that was given to him in the past by Feng Zhu.
[I still have the Fourth Hell's Flag with me. Will this thing be of any help to us?]
Hearing about Ye Gui Feng's possession of this item a gleam flashes from Yi's eyes.
[Those four flags also serve as a set of keys to enter the central domain of the Four Great Hells. If that flag is truly in your possession, then the one that should have been in this timeline must have vanished. Although the Four Great Hells are in an incomplete state at this time due to the Lesser Hells' absence entering the central domain will still provide some benefits.]
[...]
Casting a barrier around himself for concealment Ye Gui Feng takes out the red flag that has the 四 (Sì Translation: Four) character stitched in golden threads.
[...It's reacting to something. A set of keys? Does this mean those two factions already possess three flags?]
Sensing the flag's desire to leave his hand Ye Gui Feng throws it back into his storage ring before telling Yi about the matter.
[If it's reacting to something it can only be reacting to the central domain's gate. Those two factions must have already placed three of the four flags into their positions or...]
A smile of amusement appears on Yi's face as he sends out his next thought.
[Maybe they were already in position but because you had arrived into this time period with the flag the original vanished and caused the gate to close.]
