*The Outsiders*
The last football game of the season was about to start and Darry was getting ready to go onto the field when he felt two hands covering up his eyes.
He instantly smiled, knowing who it was.
"Guess who," the person giggled.
"Hm," Darry hummed, going along with the game. "Is it Marilyn Monroe?"
The person started laughing and removed their hands from Darry's eyes. He turned around and saw you standing there.
"No, silly, it's me," you said.
"Aw, dangit! I was gonna guess you next."
"Sure you were, Darryl and I got three pairs of feet," you sassed.
Darry laughed before taking you into his arms and spinning you around. When he put you back down, he kissed you sweetly.
"How are you, honey?" he asked.
"I'm good, sweetie," you answered. "How are you?"
"If I'm being honest, I'm nervous," he told you. "This is the last game of the season. What if I mess it up?"
"You won't," you reassured him. "You are the best player on that field and don't you forget it."
Darry smiled.
"What would I do without you, honey?"
"Let's not think about that right now. All you need to focus on is winning that game and kicking butts."
Darry gave you a kiss on the cheek before running to the field.
"I love you!"
"I love you too!" you yelled back.
You made your way up to the bleachers and sat next to your best friend.
"Hi, Daisy," you greeted. "How are ya?"
"Did you tell Darry yet?" Daisy asked, without greeting back.
"Oh, I'm fine too thanks for asking," you responded sarcastically.
"Sorry, sorry, I'm just real nervous for ya, Y/N."
"You're real nervous?" you questioned. "How d'ya think I'm feeling?"
"Did you tell him yet?" Daisy asked again.
"No, I didn't," you sighed. "Not yet. I didn't want to take his focus away from the game. It's the last one of the season and I didn't want to be the reason they lost it."
"You need to tell him, Y/N," Daisy told you.
"Yeah, yeah, I will but after the game."
AFTER THE GAME
The cheerleaders and football players were throwing a party at Buck's to celebrate their win. You didn't want to go for two reason; one, people would be giving you and Darry dirty looks the whole night and two, you had something you needed to tell Darry.
While everyone was driving off to the party or making their way back home, you and Darry stood by his car in the parking lot.
You started rubbing your hands together and avoiding eye contact with Darry. You didn't even notice you were doing it that until he reached out and held your hands.
"Honey, what's wrong?" he asked. "You only start rubbing your hands together when you're nervous."
You finally looked him in the eyes and sighed.
"Darry there's something I gotta tell ya, something big," you told him.
"Okay," he nodded. "What is it?"
"Remember prom night when you took me to the park instead of taking me home and we looked at the stars from the hood of your car?" you asked him.
"Of course I do, honey," he smiled. "I could never forget."
"Remember what happened afterwards?"
He then thought back to that night and started chuckling to himself while blushing a little bit.
"Course I do."
"Did you put on a rubber?" you asked.
And just like that, Darry stopped laughing and all the colour drained from his face.
"I-I-I'm sure I did. I'm...I'm pretty sure I did. I...think I did?"
You then shook your head.
"You didn't, Darry," you told him. "I'm... I'm pregnant."
Darry stood perfectly still, unsure of how to react to the news.
"Darry, sweetie, please say something," you pleaded.
"I don't know what to say," he said.
"I'm sorry," you cried. "I didn't meant to. I—"
"Hey, what are you apologizing for?" he asked.
"I don't know," you shrugged, trying to wipe some of your tears away.
Darry wiped away some of your tears and kissed you lovingly. After you pulled away, he took you into his arms.
"It's okay, honey. Sure we're a little young and this isn't exactly how we planned it but I'm happy."
"You are?" you asked, looking into his eyes.
"Of course I am, darlin'. I always saw us getting married and having kids in the future. The kids part just came a little earlier is all."
"What are your parents gonna say?"
"They already love you, Y/N. They'll be overjoyed," Darry told you.
"Really?" you asked.
"Really," Darry nodded. "I love you, Y/N."
"I love you too, Darry," you said.
"We're gonna be great parents."
