*Avengers Infinity War*
I heard a knock on my door but I couldn't be bothered to move from my bed. I just lay still as I stared at the empty space next to me. I couldn't move. I also felt like I couldn't breathe. I felt like I couldn't do anything. My energy was drained, eyes were red, breathing was slow and body as still as a statue.
The knocking continued but I still stayed on the bed, unmoving.
"Okoye, the door is unlocked. Just come in if you're going to," I spoke, voice barely higher than a whisper. "Your knocking is giving me a headache... well, a bigger one."
I heard the door open but I didn't hear footsteps come into the room.
"The door's unlocked? Well, you probably should've lead with that my queen," I heard him say.
I jolted up from my previous position and turned my body to face him. At first I thought my mind was playing tricks on me but the longer I looked at him, the more I realized that this couldn't be fake. It felt too real.
He moved closer while I sat still until he finally reached me. He laid his hand upon my cheek and I grabbed it.
"You're real," I whispered as the tears streamed down my face. "You're actually real. How-"
"I promised you I would come back didn't I? Did you not trust me?" he asked with a smile on his face.
"I didn't know what to trust. Thanos snapped his fingers and you were just gone."
"I always keep my promises," then he took in my appearance and he seemed somewhat surprised.
I wouldn't blame him though. My pajamas were all wrinkled and dirty, I had dark bags under my red, puffy eyes, my usually beautiful curls were matted down and nappy because I hadn't been wearing my bonnet and all trace of happiness had disappeared from my being.
"I know. I look terrible," I said then let out a humorless laugh. "If I knew you were coming back I would've put on my best dress and jewelry. Or at the very least, taken a shower."
"I think you look beautiful, my queen. You always do," he smiled. "But you must get ready for the day I have planned."
"What do you have planned?"
He just smirked at me.

"T'Challa, where are we going?" I asked with a giggle.
"It's a...."
"Surprise. Yeah, yeah, I know but I think I have the right to know what I got all pampered and dressed up for," I told him then we stopped.
T'Challa moved his hands from my eyes and I could feel them water as I gasped. The huge mango tree that hung over the picnic blanket provided us with cooling shade to protect us from the sun, the green grass that surrounded us was as soft as the clouds and the hill we were on gave us the perfect view of Wakanda and the beautiful setting sun.
It was our secret place.
It was untouched, unlike the rest of the kingdom. Everything was still intact and perfect, just as we had left it.
"Luckily enough it was one of the few places that wasn't destroyed in the battle. I thought it would bring you great joy if I bought you here. And judging by the look on your face I can see that I was correct," he ended with a cocky tone.
I scoffed and pushed him softly before engulfing him in a hug. I felt him hug me back. I held onto him longer than I usually would because I was scared that if I let go he would be gone.
We both sat on the blanket and talked about everything yet nothing while watching the once blue sky turn into a orangish-yellow hue.
After a while we got up from our spot and started taking a walk around the once beautiful country.
"I can't believe this is Wakanda," T'Challa said.
"I know. Thanos and his little henchmen destroyed everything," I spat out with a deep hatred in my voice.
T'Challa pulled me into him and stared deep into my eyes. His presence calmed me and I immediately cuddled into his chest and let a few stray tears fall from my eyes.
"He didn't take everything. I still have you don't I?" He asked me lovingly. "And you are all that truly matters to me."
"And you're all that truly matters to me. I thought that when Thanos snapped his fingers and you and everyone else turned into dust that you wouldn't come back and..."
"But I did, didn't I?" he asked me.
I pulled away from the warm embrace and held his hand. We walked back to the castle and stood at the door. I let go of his hand and turned to face him as he did the same.
"This is my stop," I joked.
He smiled lightly before nodding his head.
"When will you be back?" I asked sadly, afraid of the answer I might receive.
"I don't know," he answered just as sad. "But I will be back."
Then he lightly kissed my forehead and I closed my eyes, trying to hold back the tears.
I heard the door open and heard footsteps coming towards me.
"Y/N?"
I lifted my head and turned to the voice.
"Hi Shuri," I replied.
"What are you doing outside, alone? I swear I heard you talking to someone-" she stopped herself and looked at me with great sympathy. "Were you talking to him again?"
I nodded sadly as i started sobbing loudly. Shuri quickly took me into her arms and held me tightly. I felt some of her tears fall onto my head while she tried to calm me down.
I looked at the spot where T'Challa was once standing only to see that there was nobody there. There never was.
