Tonight was your daughter's first big dance; Homecoming and she looked absolutely perfect.

She wore a sleek, yellow dress that went perfectly with her black strapped heels. Her makeup was consisted only of foundation, clear lip gloss and mascara because, let's be honest, she didn't need all the extra makeup. And finally she had her natural hair out, so she looked like an absolute queen.

Sadly though, you couldn't be there to bask in her glory because you were in the Bahamas for a business trip and you were so caught up in your work that you could barely talk to Grant or Navaeh.

The night was going great for Navaeh. She was dancing with her friends, making memories and just having the time of her life but of course her night just had to be ruined by idiots who had shit to say.

Two boys —Brad and Jeff— walked up to Navaeh and her best friend, Geena with their girlfriends, Becky and Stacy.

Those four were seen as the 'most popular' kids at the high school because of their wealth and people basically worship the ground they walk on.

Anyways, back to the story.

When the four reached your daughter and her friend, Brad starting making monkey noises and Jeff started singing 'In The Jungle (The Lion Sleeps Tonight)'.

Navaeh and Geena rolled their eyes, already knowing what was coming.

"Wow Stace, I didn't know the circus was in town," Becky annoyingly cackled.

"Clearly not, because you missed it boo boo," Geena retorted.

"What did you just say about my girlfriend, primate?" Brad asked threateningly, stepping closer towards Geena.

She stepped even closer to him so that they were chest to chest.

"I said, your girlfriend's a clown. Do you need me to say it louder?" Geena asked him.

While all this was happening, Navaeh just stood back and watched it happened. She was always more of a shy and quiet type that didn't like confrontations and Geena was always the loud, outgoing type who never backed down.

Brad just rolled his eyes and took two steps back.

"Whatever," he muttered.

"Ugh, why do you always have to be so ghetto? Like, this isn't 'the hood' you came from," Stacey said.

"Oh, hey Stacey," Geena said in a sickeningly sweet voice. "I didn't see you there behind Becky's shadow."

Stacey let out a large gasp.

"I like what you did with your teeth by the way," Geena continued. "Yellow is my favourite colour."

By now, an entire audience had gathered around the six of them and they laughed at Geena's comment.

"I want to fuck you up so bad but I was raised to never hit girls," Jeff threatened.

"She looks a dude anyways, so it's fine dude," Brad said.

"I would love to see lay your pasty ass, baby doll hands on my gorgeous body," Geena said. "Now if you don't move up outta our way, I will take my left leg and put it on the right side of your face."

Then Brad's gaze shifted off of Geena and onto your daughter. Not knowing what else to do, she quickly looked at him too then looked away.

"What? You don't have anything to say Sharkeisha?" Brad asked her.

"My name's not Sharkeisha," Navaeh mumbled.

"What was that chimp?" he asked her again.

"Leave her alone you privileged asshole," Geena said and he just ignored her.
