"Are you guys ready to start yet?" the producer asked for the umpteenth time that day.
"Yep," Ashton replied.
"Ready," Luke said.
"Yeah," Michael chimed.
"No," Calum said.
Everyone else in the room groaned. This has got to be the billionth time Calum said no and everybody knew why.
They were recording 'Old Me' today and Calum thought it was wrong of them to sing a song about their history and past without including you. So, Cal reached out to you. He told you the exact date and time to arrive, he even sent you the lyrics and instrumental and yet, you were still nowhere to be seen.
"Cal, mate, I don't think she's coming," Michael told him.
"Yes, she is," Calum told him.
"We haven't spoken to her in over a year!" Luke exclaimed. "And we've always been the ones to reach out. She just... wants nothing to do with us."
"Can you blame her?" Ashton muttered.
"What was that, Ash?" Luke asked.
"Nothing," he said.
"No, I think you did say something. How about you say it to my face?"
"It's just... I can see where she's coming from. Can't you?" Ashton asked.
Luke just kept quiet.
"Let's wait a little while longer. Yeah?"
Luke nodded and so did Michael.
'Thank you,' Calum mouthed to Ashton and he just smiled in return.
Another half an hour passed and there was still no sign of you.
"Cal, we have to start now," Michael told him.
He let put a sigh and solemnly nodded.
"I know," he said.
So with that, they all entered the recording booth.
"Are you guys ready now? Like, really ready?" the producer asked.
"Yeah," the group said in unison.
They were about to start when suddenly the door of the studio opened and you were stood at the entrance.
Everybody stopped whatever they were doing to look at you. Damn, you'd changed.
Your hair went from its dyed vibrant blue to its natural colour. You weren't wearing E-Girl clothes anymore, the clothes you wore were sensible but still trendy. And also, you had a baby in your arms. She was the spitting image of you, which made sense since she was your daughter.
Calum's eyes lit up as he ran out the booth. He stopped right in front of you. His eyes were glistening and full of joy.
"Can... can I hold her?" he asked.
You nodded and carefully handed her over. The moment she was in his arms she started fussing but Calum managed to calm her down.
"What's her name?"
"Ezra," you answered.
"Isn't that a boy's name?" Cal joked.
You smiled and let out a little chuckle.
"Doesn't have to be," you answered.
The rest of the group left the booth and walked to you and baby Ezra. They stopped in front of you though, not knowing how you felt about them. They looked down, feeling ashamed.
You just hugged them tightly and tears started escaping your eyes. The boys also started crying.
"I forgive you," you told them.
They couldn't believe you forgave them after the pain they put you through.
EIGHTEEN MONTHS AGO
"You're what?" your guys' manager asked.
"I'm pregnant," you answered quietly.
"How could this have happened? This should have never happened," he said.
"It was a mistake," you said.
"Yeah, no, I got that part. Why would you purposely ruin everything all of you worked so hard for? Why would you purposely throw your life away?"
You felt like crying but held back your tears because you knew your best friends would stick up for you.
"Abort it," Management said.
"What?" you asked, mortified. "No. Never."
"Then you're out of the group. We'll think of an excuse as to why you left and you'll still receive money from the sales of the songs and albums you were on but your affiliation with the group is terminated."
You turned to the boys and they each had the same expression on their faces.
"Guys, come on. Please," you pleaded.
"Y/N," Luke began. "Maybe you should think about it, you know."
"What?"
"Luke's right," Michael added.
"Yeah, you shouldn't have to throw away your whole future because of a mistake," Ashton told you.
"Cal?" you asked, turning to your last hope.
Instead of saying anything he just kept quiet and avoided eye contact with you.
Hearing all you needed to, you left the room and never looked back.
PRESENT DAY
When you guys pulled away from your hug, you took Ezra from Calum's arms and placed her in the baby seat that you brought with you.
"So," you began. "Are we gonna sing or what?"
