"Are you sure you're going to be okay?" Buck asked me, concern laced in his beautiful voice.

I just chuckled quietly before replying.

"Yes, Buck. I'm going to be fine, I promise."

"Good, you better," he playfully warned me.

"I'm just going to my apartment, not freaking Iran to serve in the military," I joked.

"It's not my fault you seem to attract trouble."

Okay, that was true. Everywhere I went it seems trouble followed. On my last birthday, I was involved in a car accident which rendered me unconscious in the hospital for two weeks. My life was practically Murphy's Law but I guess it can be pretty useful. For example, I would've never met Buck if not for it.

When I was at work I decided to take the stairs instead of the elevator. So while walking down them I tripped and fell down three floors. I heard a bunch of cracks and when I reached the last floor I hit the the ground hard and became unconscious. When I opened my eyes, I was in a hospital bed and standing next to it was Buck. I had a concussion, three broken ribs, a broken leg, a sprained wrist and also a new boyfriend. So, win some, lose some, right?

Anyways back to the present.

"Bye," I said through the phone.

"Bye beautiful," he said back and I hung up the phone.

I walked into my apartment, got changed into my pajamas and immediately went to sleep.

I was in the middle of a great dream when I started feeling hot. I thought it was nothing so I continued with my sleep. A few moments afterwards, my lungs were filled with smoke. I woke up and saw my room covered in flames. I started panicking so I did the first thing that came to mind, I grabbed my phone and dialed 911.

"911, what's your emergency?" I heard a female voice say through the phone.

"Please help, my apartment is on fire and it's getting harder to breathe," I spoke quietly.

"Okay ma'am, I'm going to need you to tell me your address," the woman said through the phone.

I told her my address and she said the fire department would be over soon but until then all I could do was try to find an escape and calm down.

I got off my bed and walked to my door. When I reached out to touch the handle, the metal burnt my palm, so I quickly retracted it and backed away. More smoke filled my lungs as tears filled my eyes. I slowly fell to my knees and began thinking. 'What if I don't make it!' 'What if the fire department doesn't make it?' 'What if I never see Buck again?'

With the last thought I lost all hope. My vision got blurry and I started feeling light headed. Just when I was about to lay down, I heard a loud crack. I saw my door on the floor and a figure walked in. It took me into its arms and started running. Before I passed out I heard a familiar voice feeling me to stay conscious but I couldn't.

I jolted up and took in a deep breath. I looked around me and saw I was in a hospital room. I looked to my left and saw nothing but when I looked to my right I saw Buck there with a relieved expression. I smiled at him before laying back down on the bed.

"Hey," he said.

"Hey," I repeated, my voice was hoarse and it hurt to talk.

"How're you feeling?" he asked me.

I smiled and showed him a thumbs up and he sighed in relief. I held out my hand for him and he took it, careful not to hurt me. I winced a bit because that was the hand that was burnt by the handle. Buck saw this and immediately let go. My expression fell for a bit before I quickly smiled again.

"Buck, I'm fine," I told him. "It's just a few burns and little smoke in my lungs. I guess I should've expected it, seeing as that building was slowly falling apart and practically a death trap."

"Then move in with me."

I immediately stopped talking and stared at him wide eyed.

"Come again?"

"Look Y/N, I love you. Like a lot and you're my first real girlfriend in a long time. Usually with me it's just a quick fuck and I move on with my life but with you I feel something different. I feel something real," he spoke sincerely. "When I heard about the fire and I found out it was your building, I felt something in me break. I thought I was gonna lose you. I was terrified. I don't want to feel anything like that ever again and the only way I can be assured your safe is if I know you're close to me. So, please move in with me."

I nodded slowly and saw him smile. He leaned down and kissed me. Our kiss was passionate and full of love but of course we had to pull away because we still need oxygen.

"I love you so much," he said.

"I love you too," I said back.
