*Shazam*

I was binge watching my favourite show in the living room when I heard strange noises coming from the backyard.

"Mom?!" I yelled in fear but then I remembered that my whole family went away for a two week vacation while I asked to stay behind.

Knowing this was how people died in horror movies, I decided not to investigate the noise.

I pressed the play button and went back to my show. But later, the sound came back and it was louder than before. Now it sounded like someone was banging on my kitchen window.

Not knowing what else to do, I paused the TV again, walked to the kitchen and looked out the window. Everything seemed normal until a white piece of paper with 'Don't Scream' written on it slapped against my window. I let out a gasp.

Then a grown man popped up where the paper used to be and I screamed louder than I ever have in my life.

"Stranger danger! Stranger danger!" I yelled while pointing at the guy.

"Wait, Y/N! It's me," he said.

"Oh my gosh, he knows my name!" I cried.

"No, Y/N, it's me. It's Billy Batson," he said.

"Lies! Billy Batson is a scrawny, average looking 15 year old kid," I said.

"Scrawny? Average looking?" the guy exclaimed. "Well, that hurt more than I thought it would."

I carried on staring at him, while slowly backing away towards the hidden emergency button in the kitchen.

"Don't hit the emergency button," he said and I stopped in my tracks.

"How do you know about the emergency button," I asked him.

"Because you told me about it," he said.

"No, I didn't. I told Billy Batson about it."

"I am Billy Bat- oh, forget it," he sighed. "I guess I'll just have to show you. Shazam!"

The weird man disappeared and in his place was my best friend, Billy Batson.

"Billy?" I questioned.

"Surprise," he nervously chuckled.

I quickly unlocked the kitchen door, let him in and locked it again. I grabbed Billy by the arm and dragged him to the living room, where I then proceeded to throw him on the couch.

"What the hell did I just see out there?" I asked him.

"Me?" he answered in a question form.

"You know exactly what I mean Batson. Don't act smart with me."

"Okay, fine. You saw my..." he looked around to see if the coast was clear.

"There's no one else but me here," I told him.

"You saw my superpowers," he said.

"Your superpowers?"

"At least one of them. I've got more," he pointed out. "Well, I think I've got more. I haven't really checked."

"So, you're telling me that you're a superhero?" I asked.

"Yeah, basically."

"Did you save anyone's life recently?"

"No but—"

"Have you stopped a robbery?"

"No—"

"Do you have an arch nemesis?"

"No, why would—"

"There you're not a real superhero," I deadpanned.

"Wow," he said. "Again, that hurt more than I thought it would."

"I'm not tryna be mean Billy but, these are the main parts that make up a superhero," I said.

Then he slumped against my couch and let put a deep sigh.

"Just when I thought things were looking better for me," he muttered.

I started feeling guilty so I held Billy's hand in mine. When he looked up at me I saw that he was blushing hard.

"I'm sorry," I apologized. "I didn't say you wouldn't ever become a superhero. Just saying you're not there yet."

Billy slowly nodded.

"We'll have to train you, find out if you have more super powers, work on your quips," I listed. "It's gonna be awesome."

"Yeah, let me just tell Freddy and he can join us on this. He's really into this kind of stuff," Billy said.

"You told me before you told Freddy?" I asked.

"Yeah," Billy answered shyly.

"Why?" I asked him.

"I don't know," he said. "When this happened to me the first thing I thought was, 'I need to tell Y/N'."

I cheesed so hard at that comment. I leaned over and pecked his cheek. Which was red and hot when my lips left it.

"Thanks Batson."

He shrugged, trying to hide his embarrassment.

"It's no big deal," he said.

I laughed.

"Hey, I'm binge watching (Y/FAVOURITE /SHOW). Wanna join?" I offered.

"I can't. I need to head home and tell Freddy about this," Billy said.

I nodded in understanding.

"See you tomorrow then?" I asked.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow."

Then we did our handshake and Billy left my house.

"Damn," I muttered. "I'm best friends with a superhero."
