You were upstairs struggling to pack your bags because of the tears in your eyes. While doing that, you found a grey oversized hoodie.

It was Griffin's.

You stole it from him a year ago when you were sleeping over at his house for the very first time. Looking at it now was just breaking your heart because you knew what was to come tomorrow.

Just as you were about to pack it into your suitcase you heard your mom shouting from downstairs,

"Y/N, you have someone here to see you!"

You stopped what you were doing, wiped away your tears and hurried downstairs. When you got there you saw Griffin standing in the doorway with his arms open wide.

You squealed and jumped into his arms. He laughed after letting out a grunt.

"Woah! I'm happy to see you too babe," he said.

You pulled away and kissed him. He kissed back and it was about to get more intense but then you heard somebody clear their throat.

You pulled away and your mom was still standing there with crossed arms and a dirty look on her face.

"Little girl, don't be thinking just 'cause you eighteen you grown," she said. "You ain't."

"Sorry mama," you said then you turned to Griffin. "Let's go"

He grabbed your hand and walked out the house but not before saying bye to your mom.

"Bye Y/M/N!"

"Boy what?!"

"I mean, Mrs Y/L/N. Sorry! "

TIME SKIP

The plan for the day was simple; go see a movie, eat at your guys' favourite restaurant and then go to an arcade.

Since today was your last day with Griffin you wanted to spend it as best as you could.

But... the cinema was closed for renovations, the restaurant was being fumigated and the arcade burnt down two weeks ago. It didn't help that while Griffin tried to make you feel better you just had a distant look in your eyes and wore a constant frown.

When Griff's car pulled up in front of your house, you turned to him with a fake smile planted on your face.

"Bye babe. Love ya," you said.

Before you could open the car door, it got locked. You turned to your boyfriend with a 'WTF' look.

"What's wrong with you?" he asked.

You shrugged, tryna act clueless.

"I don't know what you're talking about," you lied.

"Y/N, you can't lie to me so don't even try to."

And that's when all of the tears you held back from today starting pouring down your face. Griffin quickly reached over and took you into his arms.

"Babe, what's wrong? Talk to me, please," he pleaded, on the verge of crying as well.

He hated seeing you like this. You being hurt, hurt him.

When you pulled away he gently held your hand and occasionally squeezed it just to remind you that he was still there.

"I-" you choked out. "I'm leaving tomorrow because I got into my dream college."

"Oh no?" he questioned.

"Yeah, it is an 'oh no' situation. My dream college is in Italy."

You saw Griffin's face morph into realization and sadness.

"Oh," he mumbled.

The car was then filled with a thick, melancholy silence but then it was broken.

"Then just don't go," Griff suggested.

"I can't."

"Why not?"

"Because not everyone can be a superstar millionaire by the time we're 19! I have to go to a normal college, get a normal 9 to 5 job, marry a normal dude, have normal kids and live a normal life!" you ranted.

"You keep saying normal like it's a bad thing," Griffin spoke.

"Because in this instance, it is. Being normal means I don't get to be with you and I want to be with you so badly," you cried.

Griffin reached over again and took you and held your face in his hands. He leaned forward and rested his forehead on yours.

"Hey, listen to me," he said quietly. "I love you so much and I also want you to stay with me but you need to go. Do you know how many people would kill to be going to their dream school in Europe? It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and you can't risk that for me."

Then he kissed you slowly while a few tears escaped his eyes. When he pulled away he smiled at you.

"I gotta go inside 'fore my mama gets the belt," you joked.

Griffin laughed through his tears and wiped his eyes.

"Yeah, probably."

"You know, I don't have a ride to the airport," you hinted.

"Well, I'm free tomorrow," he answered.

"Perfect."

You leaned in for another kiss but then you heard a knock on the window of the passenger seat.

You two looked outside and saw your mother standing there wearing a fluffy pink robe, matching bonnet, Adidas slides and she was holding a leather belt in her hand.

You rolled down the window and smiled at her innocently.

"Hi mommy," you said.

" 'Hi mommy' my ass. What time did I tell you to come home?" she asked.

"22:30," you told her.

"And what time is it now?"

"22:30."

She made a buzzer sound with her mouth.

"Wrong, it's 22:31," you had to stop yourself from rolling your eyes. "You on thin ice girly. I can stop you from going to that Italian school. Don't think I won't do it."

"But mom," you began. "It's a great college opportunity for me."

Your mom then scoffed.

"Girl please. You can just go to BooBoo The Fool Clown School, and it's only five blocks away from here."

You then started laughing and soon everybody joined you. When you calmed down, your mom knowingly smiled at you.

"Okay, ten more minutes but that's it," and with that, she walked away.

You turned back to Griffin with a wide smile.

"7:00 sharp and not a moment later," you told him and he nodded.

Just as you were about to leave, you felt him grabbing your arm. You looked at him with a confused expression and he just smirked back.

"Your mom said 'ten more minutes' and as far as I'm concerned, we still have eight minutes."

He leaned in and captured your lips with his once again. You kissed back and for those final eight minutes, you two showed each other the real love you had for one another and that was all you needed.
