You hated your friends. Absolutely hated them. Because after telling them countless times that you didn't want to be set up on a blind date, they still set you up on one. Smfh.

The restaurant they told you to go to wasn't half bad though. The decor was exquisite and you could tell the food would be even better. It was incredibly fancy and probably expensive which led you to questioning how your broke ass friends could afford it.

The restaurant also had a strict dress code; elegance and you couldn't lie, you felt really underdressed. All you had one was a strapless maroon top with matching pants and black high heels. Your hair was in its natural, curly state and instead of going all out with the make up all you had on was lip gloss and mascara.

You and your date were supposed to meet up at 19:30. The time was currently 21:00 and yet he was nowhere to be seen. People were starting to give you looks of pity and all you had ordered was a glass of water.

You were tired, hungry and hurt. Even though you didn't know the guy, it hurt that he didn't even bother to show up.

Still having a shred of dignity within you, you got up and got out, leaving a tip for the kind waiter that served you.

Once you were at least two blocks away from the restaurant a guy ran in and he was out of breath. His sandy blond locks were sticking to his forehead due to the sweat, his black suit was wrinkled and untidy and in both of his hands were chocolates and a bouquet of (Y/FAVOURITE /FLOWERS). His green eyes searched the restaurant frantically but couldn't seem to find the girl in a maroon outfit that he was told to meet.

He felt disappointed, hurt even but he knew it was partially his fault. He walked up to a waiter who seemed to be clearing up a table and asked him,

"Excuse me, have you seen a girl wearing marron clothes around here somewhere?"

The waiter glared at him as if he just stole his lunch and answered with a gruff, "Yeah."

"Where is she?" he asked.

"You just missed her buddy. She left about fifteen minutes ago," the waiter answered.

"Oh no. Did you see which direction she was heading in?"

The waiter shook his head. Sean turned around and was about to leave when the waiter stopped him.

"Where were you, man?" he asked. "She sat her for almost two hours waiting on you."

Sean felt worse after hearing those words. He faced the waiter with sad eyes and explained everything to him.

After the story was done, the waiter's annoyed face had turned into a sympathetic one and he felt bad for the guy standing in front of him.

"Oh damn," he said.

"Yeah," Sean agreed.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Go get her!" the waiter told him.

Sean nodded and ran out of the restaurant. After about half an hour Sean still had no luck whatsoever. He couldn't find you no matter how hard he looked. He walked around a little more until he reached a park.

In the middle of the park there was a big white chapel that was covered in fairy lights and had an assortment of flowers growing around it.

Somebody was sitting on a step that lead into the chapel and Sean decided to go join them. He sat next to the girl and let out a sigh, never once noticing her maroon outfit.

"Tough night, huh?" the girl next to him asked.

"Yeah, you could say that."

"Same here. My friends set me up on a blind date even though I begged them not to and when I finally went, my date didn't show up," you explained.

"That's rough," Sean said. "I also had a date today but I couldn't make it."

"Why not?" you asked.

"Well, I was filming today and then I left early so I could get to my date on time. When I left my house though, it started raining and there was no uber near my area which sucked because the restaurant was literally a three hour walk away."

"So, what did you do?"

"I ran," Sean stated simply.

"In the rain?" you asked with a chuckle.

Sean started chuckling too.

"Yeah, but luckily for me it stopped raining after about half an hour and when I stopped to take a breather I was outside a cute chocolate and flowers shop where I got these," he gestured to the items in his hands. "As soon as I got them, I started running again but it was no use. By the time I made it to the restaurant I was too late."

You looked at Sean with sympathy.

"Hey," you said with a gentle nudge.

He turned to face you with a defeated look.

"None of this was your fault. In fact, if your date knew what you went through today just to be with her I'm sure she'd be overjoyed," you said.

And for the first time since you two met, the fairy lights hit you at just the right angle and Sean saw your maroon outfit. He stared at it in shock.

"What's your name?" he asked you.

"Y/N," you answered.

"The restaurant you got stood up at was it called..."

"Ooh La La Cuisine," you two said at the same time.

Realization suddenly dawned on you.

"You," you breathed out. "You were my blind date."

Sean smiled widely and awkwardly handed you the box of chocolates and bouquet.

"Here, these are for you."

You giggled and kissed his cheek.

"Thank you."

"Hey listen, today didn't go the way I was hoping it would so do you maybe want a do over?" Sean asked.

"Yeah, I'd like that," you said.

"Me too," he smiled.
