You knew today was gonna be a good day. You didn't even know why but you just had a feeling and you trusted your feelings.

Since you were in a rush to start your soon to be amazing day you decided to kill two birds with one stone. So, while you were brushing your teeth you went out of your apartment to get your mail.

Sadly, you had forgotten that your extremely good looking neighbour gets his mail at the same time as you. When you saw him standing across from you, you had a sudden realization. You literally just woke up.

You were still wearing your bonnet along with your Captain America pyjamas with a toothbrush in your mouth and crust still in your eyes.

As soon as yours and Gabe's eyes met, he waved at you with a smile and you just froze.

When you snapped out of it you sprinted back into your apartment and locked the door behind you.

You had never felt so embarrassed in your life. Gabe was your crush and you always made sure you looked like an absolute snack before walking out your door.

As soon as you got yourself together you took a shower and called your closest friends.

TIME SKIP

"You ran back into your apartment?!" Sarah asked you trying to contain her laughter.

"Yes," you groaned with your head in your hands. "What else was I supposed to do?"

"Maybe wave back like a normal person," Ava said.

"Oh," you mumbled. "Well I wasn't thinking of that at the time."

"Well, obviously," Sarah chuckled. "So, then what?"

"Then I took a shower and called you guys," you said as you lifted your face from your hands.

"It's not really that big a deal if you think about it," Ava told you and you gave her a 'bitch WTF' face.

"Are you kidding me? I can never face him again. I'm gonna have to start getting my mail when Gabe's not home. I might even have to change my identity!"

You knew you were overreacting but once you started something you always finished it. You were already in too deep with this over dramatic act of yours and you were going to see it through.

Ava, Sarah and Patricia started laughing hard at your nonsensical babbling.

"I remember that age when my only worry was my crush seeing me without makeup on," Patricia said.

"I know right? It was so amazing and easy," Sarah agreed.

"It seems like it was so long ago," Ava complained.

"Oh come on, you guys aren't that old," you said in an attempt to cheer them up.

"We never said we were," Patricia told you and you just remained silent.

"Just talk to Gabe, Y/N. It'll all be okay," Ava said.

You groaned before getting up from the couch and walking out the apartment. You walked to Gabe's door and took a deep breath before knocking.

After a few moments the door opened and you saw Gabe standing in front of you.

" Y/N," he breathed out. "Hi."

"Hey," you said back in a quiet voice. "How are you?"

"I'm good. How about you?"

"I'm good too."

After you said that, there was an awkward silence between you two.

"So are we just gonna ignore the big elephant in the room?" Gabe asked you.

"I was kinda hoping to," you told him. "But I guess there's no avoiding it is there?"

"Nope," he chuckled. "If it's any consolation, I thought you looked really cute."

You felt your face immediately heat up and you looked down.

"Thanks," you mumbled.

"Even though you are a traitor," he finished.

Your head shot up at that comment.

"Excuse me?" you asked.

"Nothing, it's just that I didn't expect you to be a Captain America fan when Iron Man is where it's at," he explained.

"Okay, first of all, shut up. Second of all, Captain America is the best."

"Mm, no. I don't think so," he smiled.

"Then you're not thinking right," you said sassily.

"Well, it seems to me that we're not going to reach a conclusion to this conversation any time soon," Gabe says.

"It does seem like that doesn't it?" you asked back.

"Maybe we should finish this conversation tonight at seven at this cute little Italian restaurant down the street," he said.

"Yeah, sounds good," you smiled.

Gabe smiled back twice as hard and closed the door.

You smiled and had a little celebratory happy dance in the middle of the hallway.
