"Y/N. Y/N, wake up," you heard a familiar voice tell while shaking you awake.

"No, go away," you grumbled tiredly while attempting to push the person away but it didn't help.

The person kept shaking until you turned to face them with tired eyes.

"Shawn?" You asked.

"Yeah, come on babe. We've got to go," he told you excitedly.

"What time is it?"

Shawn checked his watch before replying, "2 in the morning."

"Okay, where are we going?"

"The studio," he said.

You slowly got up and put your slippers while grabbing your robe and wrapping your robe around your body. Shawn grabbed your hand and pulled you out of the house and into the car. The entire drive there you kept hearing him humming an unfamiliar but catchy song but you didn't pay much attention because you were trying to go back to sleep.

When the car stopped Shawn woke you up and agin and pulled you into the building where you two kept running until you reached the studio. By now, you weren't even tired anymore, just annoyed.

"Why are we here Shawn?"

Shawn pointed to a couch against the wall and you went to sit on it. Afterwards he started playing around with the soundboard until he stopped and turned to look at you with an excited grin on his face.

"I wrote you a song," he told you.

"No," you said firmly.

"No?" Shawn questioned. "That's not how most people would typically react when their lover tells them that they wrote them a song."

"Well, most people haven't had fifty other songs written about them," You retorted.

"Twenty two actually," he corrected you.

"You counted?"

"You didn't?"

After some arguing and persuasion, you agreed to let Shawn perform the song for you if he promised to never write another one about you ever again. He pressed a button on the soundboard, ran into the recording booth and started singing.

From the very first note the song had you charmed. You had never blushed, danced, attempted to sing along but failed to a Shawn Mendes song so much in your life and Shawn saw it. He couldn't stop smiling throughout the entire performance because he knew that finally, one of his songs about you brought you this much happiness.

"I can't write one song that's not about you
Can't drink without thinking about you
Is it too late to tell you that
Everything means nothing if I can't have you," Shawn finished and as soon as he did you ran into the booth and tackled him in a hug.

"So, you liked it then?" Shawn asked playfully.

"Of course I do. Don't you ever stop writing songs about me," you told.

"But I thought you didn't want me writing you any songs. What changed?"

"Ugh Shawn, that was a whole three minutes ago. I'm older now. I understand," you playfully said.

Shawn laughed at you and kissed your forehead.

"I'll never stop writing songs about you."

After a few moments of silence you spoke up.

"Hey Shawn?"

"Yeah, babe?" He asked.

"Everything means nothing if I can't have you," you sang off key while Shawn laughed at you and mumbled a 'same'.
