"Oh my goodness, you look beautiful Y/N," your mother gushed.
"Thanks," you mumbled.
You saw yourself in the body length mirror and almost smiled. Key word; almost.
You were wearing the wedding dress of your dreams and your hair and makeup done to absolute perfection. You looked like an angel... no, scratch that. A goddess.
But as great as you looked, you felt absolutely awful. You heart was beating out of your chest, your entire body was shaking, the room was spinning and you had nausea.
"Joe is so lucky," your mother continued. "Can you believe you're getting married today? Just think about all those people that came to see you."
You wanted to say something, anything. But you couldn't. You were too busy clutching your chest, hyperventilating and falling to your knees.
"Y/N!"
MEANWHILE IN JOE'S ROOM
"Congratulations, man. You're finally getting married," Nick said.
Kevin patted Joe on the back and gave him a thumbs up.
"I know," Joe said. "I still can't really believe it."
"Well, Y/N's a really lucky lady," Kevin said.
"Actually, I'm the lucky one," Joe admitted. "Y/N has changed me for the better. I can't think of my future without instantly thinking of her. She's my everything."
When Joe finished talking he saw his brothers playfully pouting at him with their hands over their hearts.
"Shut up," Joe smiled, knowing what has about to happen.
"Aw, she's your everything," Kevin and Nick mocked in baby voices.
Then they all started laughing but sadly their laughter was cut off by an out of breath bridesmaid bursting into the room.
"Joe, it's Y/N," she rushed out frantically.
"What about her?" he asked.
"She's-" she stopped to take a breather. "She's having an anxiety attack. She needs you."
Joe quickly ran out of the room with his brothers following after him. When he reached your room he saw you on the floor, having an anxiety attack.
"Y/N!" he fell to his knees beside you and tried calmly talking to you. "Y/N, it's me. It's Joe."
You were still hyperventilating and clutching your chest but this time tears were rolling down your face.
"Hey, look at me," he said. "Please, just look at me. That's all you have to do."
You slowly looked at him.
"That's good. Now breathe," he told you but you were struggling to. "No, no, no. It's okay. Just breathe. Like this," then he demonstrated how you should breathe.
In through the nose out through the mouth.
After about ten minutes of breathing and calming words, you calmed down.
"Are you okay now?" Joe asked and you nodded.
He got up and walked to a pitcher filled with water and poured a glass for you. When he did, he sat back down next to you and handed you the water. You gulped it down in less than five seconds.
"Did you take your pills this morning?"
You shook your head.
"There was so much to be done. The priest hadn't arrived yet, the bridesmaids dresses had to be picked up and the caterers got lost," you said.
