..... Jay had a sick feeling in his gut when he saw his attacker advance on the helicopter after pushing him unceremoniously to the hard ground. It had taken all of the young Detectives' willpower not to give voice to the pain which enveloped him at the harsh treatment. Wells moved to stand beside him, his weapon unerringly aimed at the younger man. Jay cursed inwardly. There was no need for the obvious threat. He had no intention of fighting them. The sooner they left the sooner someone would find Antonio he reasoned. Of course even if he hadn't been trying to protect his insensate friend he wouldn't have been able to wrestle either man. The shoulder dislocation effectively incapacitated him. Still trying to gauge the mens' intentions Jay watched as his attacker headed for the helicopter. A movement caught his eye and he saw Wells shift his aim to the bearded man. A shot rang out and Wells looked at the Detective with a shrug.
"I don't like people going against me."
"Who was he?" Jay frowned as he was pulled to his feet roughly and urged forward towards the aircraft.
"He was a nobody."
"So why work with him?"
"He had his usefulness," Wells explained offhandedly as he gestured curtly with his weapon for his captive to get into the passenger seat.
"Why are you interested in me?" Jay decided to try to get some answers as the older man made short work of
handcuffing his hands in front of him.
"You don't get answers. I do."...... Coming back to the present Jay wondered if the others had made any progress in identifying the dead man. It might provide a clue that would lead them to him. Hell who was he kidding? He had little hope of his friends finding him. He didn't even know where he was. The helicopter trip took over an hour but any hope of tracing his whereabouts by identifying locations below had been lost when Wells had, non too gently, placed a thick blindfold over his eyes, not sparing any concern for the swollen shut left eye. As the cloth was tightened the injured man stopped the groan that wanted to be born. He resolutely decided he would not give the man any perverse satisfaction. Shifting his position to ease the ache in his shoulder Jay wondered why Wells had allowed him to put the shoulder back into its' joint. Of course the rudimentary process of achieving the result had no doubt pleased Wells' newly discovered sadistic tendancies. It had taken four tries which consisted of him slamming the lopsided shoulder against a wall. Each failure had resulted in red hot agony which the Detective had been unable to hide. If the fourth attempt had not worked he didn't think he had the strength to try again. Luckily for him the fourth try proved successful. Wells had not been impressed however and Jay realized he had not anticipated that the Detective would actually be able to deal with the dislocation. For one dire moment an unrecognisable look passed over the mans' features and Jay had feared he would dislocate the joint again. Whether or not he had intended to however he never found out as the other mans' mobile rang and he abruptly strode from the room without a backward glance and slammed the heavy steel door shut before locking it from the outside.

After the grim discovery of the body on the rooftop the men returned to Headquarters and appraised Murphy of their findings.
"Hopefully the DB is in the system," Murphy looked at the Chicago men as he sat back in his chair, "I saw the surveillance footage. Halstead doesn't look too good. Will he be able to wait?"
"Wait?" Burke interrupted from his vantage point by the window.
"Until we get to him," Adam elaborated with a heavy sigh, this was not the way things were meant to go down.
"Halstead will hang on," Voight spoke confidently as he looked at Murphy seriously, "how about dealing with the elephant in the room?"
"Only your men, Parker and myself knew where Halstead was staying."
"And me," Burke added.
"No one else had the information," Murphy ignored the Bomb Technician and kept a steady gaze on the Sergeant, "so how did Wells know?"
"He's obviously a smart guy. Feel like a coffee?" Voight rose to his feet surprising his companions, "going to be awhile before we eat."
"Can't argue with that," Murphy agreed without hesitation knowing coffee was the least of the other mans' concerns.
"Ruzek chase up how Antonio is doing at Memorial."
"But ..," Adam was about to correct the other man about the injured Detectives' whereabouts when Voight gave a slight head shake.
"Sure Boss."
"I'm going to check the surveillance footage again," Al led the way out of the office.
"Let me know if you find anything," Voight instructed as he placed a finger to his lips and indicated he wanted all the men to follow him despite his instructions.Closing the door in the Break Room a few minutes later Voight eyed the frowning group as Parker was given a quick update after his arrival.
"We only discussed Halsteads' location in your office," eyeing Murphy the Sergeant stated without preamble after the room fell into silence.
"What are you getting at?" the Psychologist demanded, he wasn't going to let his friend be railroaded for something he didn't do.
"Damn!" Al was the first to understand what Voight was inferring.
"My office is bugged?" Murphy asked with equal parts surprise and anger.
"Either that or someone in this room betrayed the Kid," Al succinctly summed up the situation as he leant back against the closed door and folded his arms.
"You told me yourself you've been fighting the higher-ups for more funding," Voight looked at the Homeland Security man thoughtfully, "budget cuts can affect many things."
"I've been asking for daily sweeps for bugs," Murphy admitted with obvious disgust, "apparently it's too expensive."
"I promise you if Halstead doesn't make it out of this I'm going to deal with whoever refused those funds!"
"And I'll be right beside you," Murphy assured vehemently, he really hoped the young Detective made it back to them, the alternative was too bleak to think about.-------------------------
Much to his surprise Jay had fallen asleep as he waited for his captor to return. Upon waking he checked his watch. Night time had descended but in the windowless room day and night became one. He figured by now the body had been found. He had initially assumed the dead man had been Wells' accomplice but on reflection decided a question mark stood over that possibility. Or at least there was a possibility that the recently deceased man had not been his only accomplice. His left shoulder still hurt immensely so any struggle with Wells, if he had the chance, would be a difficult one. Surveying his dim surrounds again Jay noted a small table had been added during his slumber. That's when he realized the small amount of water Wells had given him must have been drugged. That's the only way he would have remained out of it when the table had been brought in. He grimaced at the thought of being unconscious while Wells was present. It accentuated the vulnerability he already felt being handcuffed to the cold wall by the unbreakable steel ring. Another glance at the table showed the hilts of a number of weapons. From his position on the hard ground however he could not identify the objects fully. Whatever they were it did not bode well for his future.
