"I have fought a good fight, i have finished my course, i have kept the faith." -2 Timothy 4:7

Can you as a christian boldly say such thing?

To have said such, truly you have a great boldness of faith in your God. How many of us has that in todays generation?

Paul mentioned 3 important things to be saved:

1. Fight a good fight.

It is written that we are not in war against flesh & blood rather we are in a spiritual battle. (read Ephesians 6:12)

The only way we can prepare ourselves in the battle is to wear the whole armor of God mentioned in the Ephesians 6:13-17. (be sure to read that one) Having worn the armor of God we can definitely fight a good fight... And we will win!

2. Finished your course.

I have understood this as, Paul had accomplished his mission and has served his life's purpose.

If i have remembered it correctly, Lord Jesus Christ called him to preach the Gospel to the gentiles... And so He did, preaching the Word of God, healing the sick... Those he did and imitate Jesus.

Jesus chose Him and called him to do his mission and He did fulfill his purpose.

3. Keep your faith.

In all the things he has experienced, the sufferings, persecutions and imprisonment, he faced them all for Christs' sake. Those are works of faith! Greater works he did as he imitate Jesus... Preaching the Gospel, healing the sick and building churches-making Jesus the foundation. He did all for the glory of God!

How did he able to do such things? & Why? Because of faith. He kept his faith! That faith keeps him moving forward towards the fulfilment of his mission/purpose in life. And that same faith will bring him to where our Lord & Savior is.

Clearly Paul can say that in 2 Tim 4:7 what he had said with boldness & confidence and He is worthy to say such.

Can you on the other hand say those things with all boldness, as a follower of Christ Jesus? As a christian we should aim for that! I'm sure God wants us to say such things... Surely He will reply, 'Well done, good & faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Master!'

To God be the glory!
