Isaiah 53:5 "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."
What does this mean aside from the thought that Jesus bore it all...our sins and by His blood we are cleanse and by His death He has given us life?
"We are healed." What does it mean? That statement doesn't tell us the absence of pain rather it tells us that we'll get better in time. Because healing is a process, a hope, to move forward and be better and stronger some day.
We often have a misconception in serving the living God that... We don't have to experience pain. And that's just wrong. Jesus suffered and died for you, He didn't pray or said it, He did it! We, as christian should of all people expect pain and tribulations in our lives, to the point of death just as Jesus experience death. And also in the same way Jesus rose gain from the grave... He is alive! Yes He died and now He is alive. That's the good news...and as christian we can hold on to that truth that in whatever we are experiencing today there's good news, because whatever the pain is today we will be healed because of the promise that is in Christ Jesus, He rose again! And so we will definitely rise from whatever fall we experience.
Christianity is about overcoming pain and struggles that is to say, you get to experience those things...there will be pain and sometimes unbearable pain yet God promises that you'll make it thru not because of your own but because God was with you thru it all, Jesus paid it all on the cross, He paid for your healing process. He was and is and will be fighting for you...like i said in my previous devotion, if you ask yourself after all you've been thru, all the struggles in life and now here you are still alive... How did you came out alive? I belive the only way you did survive in this life today was not because of what you did but because of what Jesus did for you on the cross.
Why do you think we need to experience pain and sickness? Because i believe God is set in forming His child to be a fighter, survivor and victorious! That is how He wants us to be. Not a coward and loser rather a brave and victorious one, who will face all life's challenges with confidence that their Father is already in the battle field without fear and has set his/her mind to move forward courageously... Raising the banner as a child of God.
To God be the glory!
