"This God-his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him." -Psalm 18:30 ESV
I say we are in good hands. Knowing God is perfect, His Word is truth and He protects His people.
A question formed in my mind: How could a perfect & powerful God looks at a sinner like me? I am so unworthy of His love.
How can He look at me?
Because He is perfect. He is flawless. Blameless. Holy. Righteous. Good. I guess when you're perfect you see things differently. When you are perfect, you see the needy and all you could do is help them. You can never have anything bad to say to the One who is perfect.
I guess He sees a different me, different from how i see myself and how the world see me.It is both terrifying and comforting to know that God is perfect.
One is that, it is terrifying because we are not perfect. We are flawed in all our ways. The only thing that is good in us during Adam's time was God Himself, our relationship with Him but it ended badly because of sin.
Sins separates us from God. Separated from God means we are in the opposite direction of where He is. God is in heaven and if we are separated from Him, we are going to hell. For the wages of sin is death (Romans 3:23).
Knowing God is perfect is indeed a terrifying truth. But the same truth is also a comfort as it is a terrifying one.
Mainly because God is perfect that is to say, He is good, holy, righteous, blameless... Overall because of who He is, He intends to save every one from going to hell by giving His only Son, who bore the iniquities of the world for our salvation. By God's grace thru our faith in Him who died for us to live, we are saved.
Actually these two truths i presented is applicable to certain groups, the believer and unbeliever.
'God is perfect' is a terrifying truth for the unbelievers because they will have to face the consequences of their actions. While to the believers, it is a comfort knowing their God and what Jesus did on the cross.
The question is, where do you stand?
To God be the glory!
