"Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. So He called His disciples to Him and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood." -Mark 12:42-44
Clearly what we just read is a work of faith. To be able to give despite the lack of it, is a manifestation that we trust God. An indication that we don't fear losing it and that we rely unto God more than those things that are of the world.
In this case the woman just had shown us that she trust God more than money and it pleases Jesus more than anything even if the world had given more than she had ever given God, but then in reality she has given more since she gave her all to God, she offered her last penny. God looks at not at the quantity or amount you give but He looks at the heart.
"But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." -1 Samuel 16:7
God acknowledges her and as a christian to be acknowledge by God meant everything, as it is our sole desire, isn't it not?
What she did was a work of faith... And that work of faith she manifested in the world pleases God because without faith it is impossible to please God. If we have please God means we have captured His attention which also mean He is being glorified. Doing so, we have fulfilled our main purpose to give God the glory and honour He deserve.
To God be the glory!
