"I will take you to be my people, and I will be your God, and you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who has brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians." Exodus 6:7

What's good being a Christian, aside from God acknowledging us as His people (no doubt that is the most important but I'd like to go with the 2nd point) is that no matter how we struggle and experience pain to the fullest is that we have peace at all times and in whatever circumstances we are in because of our God. This verse gives us that- PEACE. It assures us that there is peace... in Him.

How?

'...who has brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.'

The word '...the burdens of the Egyptians' here represents struggles, setback, pain, problems, trial and sorrow. During the time of Moses, the Israelites were having a hard time getting out of Egypt and to serve God because the heart of the Pharaoh was harden at that time by God, in order for Him to give signs and wonders for all the people to see and know, God's great work and in who He is.

Having no trials/struggles in life, doesn't give us an idea that we have a powerful, mighty, & merciful God rather We get to know that we have a God and that He is mighty, powerful and merciful in times of tribulations and when life gets tough.

God mentioned in the Gospel of John that in this world we will have tribulations (John 16:33) but the same verse said,

" I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

It mentioned two things:

One. We will have peace... in Him, thru Him.

Why do we have peace?

Two. For Christ has overcome the world. Remember He is alive. He is risen.

That's why we have peace knowing He has overcome the world.

This is what overcomes the world,

"For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith." 1 John 5:4

Our FAITH in Him, Jesus Christ!

If God has saved them from the Egyptians during the time of Moses, God will surely save us in whatever circumstances we are in today because God doesn't change and Jesus is the same today, yesterday & forever.

To God be the glory!
