"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me." - Isaiah 6:8
3 Things I've learn in this verse,
(1) Responding to God's call
(2) Offering one's self to God
(3) Representing God in the world
Has it gotten into you? To offer your life to God? To some maybe yes and others no... It is easier said than done of course. To say, it is one thing and to do, it is another.
If God would have asked you, 'whom shall i send?' and 'who will go for us?' Would you answer in the same way Prophet Isaiah answered?
How far would you go for Christ?
This is definitely a test of faith. Isaiah responded to his faith... to God's calling in his life by offering his life in serving God, not that God needs something from him rather because he need God, for without Him he cannot live and thru Him he was cleansed from all His iniquities, and so he decided to serve Him in the only way he can do & knows how, that is to obey His will & command. And to obey God means he is willing with all of his hearts to represent Him in this dark world by becoming the light as He is the light of this world. May we be like Isaiah in responding to God, willing & enthusiastic, after we have known what Jesus did for us on the cross. I believe we have the same predicament with Isaiah (mentioned in the previous verses 5-7). He admitted that he was indeed a sinner and throughout his journey God cleansed him & he acknowledge God for it, and so when God called him He willingly accepted it for God's sake.
We have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus from all our sins, sins that will lead us to death and hell, but to God be the glory because He has saved us, thru Him we'll have life, life everlasting. And so i pray may we respond to God's call by offering our life today & forever in representing Jesus for the world to see and for them to eventually get to know our God, how just & loving He is!
To God be the glory!
